Great for solving wifi black spots

I have a wired network in my house which links to my Virgin SuperHub 3. I have thick walls, hence the wired network. Connect these to the wired network using the network socket on the back of the AE which looks like it has a cog icon above it and choose to use the "create a network" mode. Then when configuring the AE, give it the same wireless network name and password as your main hub (in my case the same log-in details as my virgin superhub) and devices then connect to which ever hub is broadcasting the strongest signal. Ive got three of these in my house, plus my VM SuperHub 3 and the wifi coverage is perfect, and fast.

Dont use extend my wireless network mode, unless you dont have a wired connection between the hub and where you want to place the AE.

I've had AE's for years, ever since they used to be a different design, and have recommended them to friends, and everyone who has set them up in a similar way to me has loved them. Dont really see the point in the £199 version, I'd just go the the cheaper version, had both and didnt see the difference, returned the more expensive one and brought 2 AE's instead, excellent.

    Does a great job

I'm using this as an Airplay device connected to my amp and an ethernet port connected to my Sky+ box. Setup to my Netgear WiFi router was fast and uncomplicated, as always it just works, I'm managing to get 300 Mb/s connection speed which is more than enough for what I need, very pleased.

Does what it says - and well!

My original airport express gave up the struggle after 8 or 9 years of sterling service. The 2nd gen was a doddle to set up - 10 mins from unboxing to completion. The 2nd ethernet port is very useful as I can now connect it to my modem over the home powerline network and still have a spare port to attach other devices. Couldn't live without Airplay, even being without it for a couple of days was too long!

Simple to set up, works perfectly

Happy to recommend. Simple to set up. It has definitely improved the WiFi signal in my first floor room. I use to drive my Naim amplifier from my Macbook Pro. Hard to fault.

    used flawlessly for years

I bought my airport express back in 2013 and it has worked flawlessly ever since! it has streamed music to my old hifi, shared printers and now it acts as a guest wifi network. I love it! in fact, I'm tempted to upgrade it for the extreme for the shared hard drive facility (which is all is missing from the express)

    Absolutely Excellent

I brought the AirPort Express with the intention to use in my student flat. I have tested it at home and it works well in quite a large house so I am looking forward to using this in a much smaller area and less devices. Thank you Apple!
