    Top of the class

This is the best power supply I have yet found, safe, compatible, reliable.

All this hate for this product seems ? - Not from me.

Weird all this hate for this product.
Granted the 60W adaptor i have with my macbook is the ORIGINAL from 2010, and not a replacement ...
Perhaps newer ones are made to inferior standards? - Lower quality material to cut costs etc?
Apart from being grubby, the cables, both from the power socket to the adaptor & the mag-safe cable to the macbook, are in perfect condition! - Adaptor itself is doing its job nicely, with zero problems in nearly 8 years now.

Go figure ... But i won't be getting on the hate band waggon, when i personally have had zero issues!
    Five Stars!

    Not even worth 0 stars...

    Let me put it simply:

EXTORTIONATE PRICE FOR A POOR QUALITY PRODUCT.

The price for this power adapter is absolutely ridiculous. The cables are made so badly that the cable starts to fray from various points no matter how nicely you fold this up (properly - as shown by multiple apple staff).

If you want a laugh, go into the store or ask online about why your adapter is fraying and they'll tell you that they are shocked as they have "never had this issue" - keep asking this until you've asked at least 7 (I have) and then take a look amongst all these other reviews. Funny that no-onw working for apple has had this issue, yet hundreds have?

Sort it out apple, if you're going to rip us off with the price, at least make a product that works.

    60W magsafe

Unfortunately I have had same experience as everyone else: new charger at an extortionate price given there is no alternative which then fails within 3 months of purchase. It worked fine for a couple of months then wouldn't charge the lap top , then started charging again but yesterday the magnetic head snapped off its casing making the cable totally useless. Ridiculous, disappointing and totally unacceptable that I have to buy yet another one in order to use my laptop. 1 star is way over generous.

    Absolutely useless

I am disgusted at the price of this charger compared to the durability. I have had this charger for a grand total of two months and it has completely broken. For weeks the charger has been going off with the slightest bit of movement and now it is totally unresponsive. I am dumbfounded at the fact that these £80 chargers are our only options and they are lasting no more than two to three months. Classic Apple charging absurd prices for sub-standard products.

    Another failure

Like many other reviewers - my second adapter is on the verge of failing and I am going to have to buy another - come on Apple you need to do something about this.

    Too expensive!!

I had to buy a replacement charger due to my original chargers insulation splitting & exposing the cables. I was disgusted to learn of the price of a replacement charger. It is far too expensive but I have no choice but to buy one in order to continue using my laptop. It leaves me strongly doubting as to whether I would buy another Apple product in the future due to the excess expenses.

The worst thing in Apple product line.

Same story as all other users. I've bought replacements from Apple several times. Obviously this is a product quality issue, and Apple simply wants its customers to pay the bill for it. Giving one star is over generous.

    10th charger just broke

So poorly designed, typical apple prioritizing form over function. Design them with strain relief at either end obviously! This is my tenth adapter, had some genuine from Apple shops, some probably fake one ones from ebay and they're all as bad as each other. The one star rating is generous.

    Apple and cables

Apple has the worst cables I've ever seen. They don't end long and they always broke even if you really take care of it. Congrats Apple... not even able to make good cables.

    Cheap

It literally took just few weeks to see the cable starting to deteriorate. Now, after few good months, the cable is split. RIP.

    Poor

Such a shame everyone is having the same problem! Original charger lasted four years, finishing up with sparking and smoking and with both ends of the charger overheating. I decided to buy a cheaper version from Amazon to replace it, and this has just expired in the same way. I was preparing to fork over £60 for a new Apple one this time round, only to see they have increased in price by £19 since last September!! And with people still experiencing exactly the same problem! Such a joke.

    Rotten Apple

Why are we still buying from these people. We have 3 apple product in our home ipad,iPhone and MacBook all have charger issues. It can't be a fluke. It's ridiculous that these people do not see anything wrong with their products. But then it's our fault because they didn't force us to buy. APPLE BEFORE YOU RELEASE THE NEXT PRODUCT WHY NOT TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR CABLES. I'm committed to boycotting you until you fix the problem or give free replacement cables. You owe us that much. CHEAPSKATES! USELESS BRAND

    Frays and overheats

This is my second charger in 4 years. They are utter pants! I have to keep a ice pack on top of charger to stop over heating. Both chargers frayed at box end. I rarely use it. Was told by shop assistant I was winding it up wrong! Nice try! Can't even rate it! Don't want to give it one star.

Doesn't anyone from Apple read these reviews? ?

My Macbook power adapter is fraying and the plastic is splitting (has been held together with tape for 18 months) so I was interested to see whether other people had had the same problem, especially as I'm going to have to replace it with the newer style. I couldn't believe what I found - there are 16 pages dating from 2010 to Sept 2016 where people have constantly complained about the quality of their expensive chargers. Apple needs a minus section for their product rating.
What exactly is the point of reviewing a product if the manufacturer doesn't read any of them ? Is Apple so convinced of their market lead that they don't bother to listen to their supporters? Doesn't sound like good business sense to me.
Time to raise your game Apple.

    Disgraceful

How many of these ridiculously expensive and poorly made chargers is somebody expected to run through in the lifetime of their macbook????

    Tears and frays, exposing wires!

£65?! *Sigh* Will get a cheap brand one instead - chances are it'll last longer than the OM version. Three years old and has frayed, split and torn through normal use. Has now exposed the metal wires and needs replacing. Poor design...

Rubbish - why aren't the cables replaceable?????? Money making scam!

These power adapters are utter rubbish. On a variety of MacBooks, I've had four of these fail (out of four!) ALL WITH THE SAME FAULT - the wire fails at the junction with the Magsafe connector. As the connector is proprietary, you can't just get another connector and solder it on, so you have to go to the expense of buying a new adapter, even though the transformer part is fine!! Enviromental? I don't think so - money making more like. And don't buy one of the cheap so called 'genuine' adapters, 'cos they're even worse! An environmentally/customer friendly company would make the lead detachable so that it can be replaced with a new one. BAD, BAD APPLE!
