    Less Than 6 months and simply stop working

    A very poor product, no damage of any kind and the product simply stopped working. I will be taking it back to the store and asking for a replacement, why not simply fix what is putting a bad spin on a great product the Macbook Pro.

    And the very reason I'm visiting this page is because it's extremely low quality and I'll have to buy a new one. The metal head got easily squished months ago, and the cable under the head has now started falling apart with light green stuff coming out of it.

    I've had my MacBook Pro for over 6 months now. The charger has been completely fine. No problems at all. All the other reviews seem to say different but remember, its only people who have had problems who are complaining. There are thousands of working ones out there. They've just got the unlucky ones.

    I always leave mine plugged in and switched on (dont blame me for global warming) and mine hasn't overheated once. Saying that, everytime i've touched it, its not even been close to warm.

    So i'd highly recommend this charger. Most probably the best one on the market by far.

    Not Happy.

    I got my macbook pro for Christmas 2010 and was extremely pleased with the product...up until today at least. My charger has just simply stopped working. At first I suspected it was something I had done, that perhaps a wire had been tugged on and disconnected something, but since reading other reviews I'm now not so sure. This seems to be a common occurance and I don't like the idea that I have to fork out on £50 every 4 or so months for a new charger!!! This is disgraceful! Without a charger I can't access any of my work; it has rendered my beautiful macbook 100% useless. You would have thought that something as important as the charger would be of MUCH better quality! Whats the point in having a 10hour battery life when you can't charge it????

    Poorly designed connector.

    I bought my Macbook Pro in August 2010, and it is now starting to suffer with connectivity problems when plugged in so that the cable is directed away from the keyboard. I shall be getting a replacement soon, but I have to say I am extremely dissatisfied in the lifespan of the product.

    Needs to be redesigned

    I am on my second charger of this type and it is playing up already. The connecter gets very hot and intermittently charges. For a while you can get away with 'wiggling' it around until it starts charging, then it stops altogether and must be replaced. I will be visiting the apple store near me for another replacement shortly. Again.

    Charger broke in 3 months

    Bought my Macbook in Xmas 2010 and it started intermittant charging a couple of weeks back. Now a real effort to get my Macbook to charge by plugging and unplugging charger until LEDs light up on the mag head.
    My Macbook replaced a HP laptop that gave over 2 years of faultless service and I gifted it to someone else and they are still living the dream. I have a Sony Vaio and Dell Netbook for 3 years whose chargers have given absolutely no problems. All I ask for is a charger that gives a reliable charge for the Macbook. The internet is full of this issue, why doesn't Apple sort the charger manufacturer out? In the meantime my Macbook is going to end up a very expensive paperweight and I doubt I will buy another one!

    MacBook Charger overheating

    Im now reluctantly having to buy my next overpriced charger(considering the unreliability of them) . My last one was changed under warranty. I can't believe how hot the second charger got and I'm really not happy about the safety aspect of these items. I would have expected a safety recall because of this. If it wasn't for the fact the macbook was very expensive I would now be looking for an alternative. I love the Apple stuff but this particular worry does let the company down.

    This is by far apples biggest fault of their whole product range... This will be my 4th Macbook charger in 1 3/4 years and its so frustrating to have to spend £ 150 for an item to charge my macbook... please apple fix this faulty device! Please!

    Next time make a functional charger, not a fashionable one!

    I only purchased my Macbook white at the end of September and already the charger has died. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the head of the charger was overheating, becoming too hot to touch. Another thing I've noticed is when I tried to move the plug and cable around to get it working, there were crackling noises coming from the head of the charger. Its seems I'm another addition to the list of Apple consumers who are worried about their house being burned down by their products. My charger is rarely if ever moved from my desk so I think if the fault is to be blamed on "wear and tear" then Apple should focus on making a more durable, functional product than a fashionable one. I never wrap the cable up either as I know from previous experience that its not a durable cable. At this stage I'd rather have a working charger than a broken fashion accessory. I had the same problem with the charger of my old Macbook as well. Luckily I forked out for the 3 year warranty with that one so I was covered when they had to replace the charger, battery and keyboard! I'm back to using my old Macbook charger for now as there is plenty of Apple retailers near me but no repair centres. I would consider myself a lover of all things Apple. However I think I'll have to switch to a different brand for my laptop as it seems as if design faults (which were already identified with previous Macbooks) are still being made in the newer products.

    The only Apple product I'm dissatisfied with

    This is my second charger in four years. I treated the second one with particular care because I had to fork out £60 to replace the first one that broke, and now this one has broken too. I'm a student and can't afford to pay out for a charger that shouldn't have broken in the first place.

    I've not wrapped the cable round the pop out bits because I knew that would cause it to break. I've not exposed it to water or excessive heat, and I've curled the wire up gently when travelling. I've only used this cable the way one would expect to be able to use a portable item, and now it's broken! This is a useless charger. It is a hindrance to a perfectly good laptop. I'm otherwise a huge fan of Apple and this has really let me down.

    Worst part of having my mac having such an amazing charger but died after 5 months! Due to the fact i real the wire around the flick up parts which it was designed for!!!! 50 quid is way too steep

    The most awful product from Apple

    I've had my MacBook Pro since late 2009 and this is the second charger I have gone through. The first died on the day my warranty finished and I got it changed from Apple. Basically the problem was that MagSafe was showing yellow and blinking orange colour but not charging at all.

    NOw after 6 months of changing the second one to a L shaped, It is showing some sort of weird problem. It shows yellow on one side and orange on the other side and it takes twice as long to charge the battery.

    I am really upset by this and hope Apple come up with some ownership of the problem. I'm now out of warranty and have to fork out £50 for a new one.

    On My 3rd Adapter

    I'm on my 3rd one of these L-adapters. Thankfully, Apple keeps replacing them for free, but the one I am using now only charges with a lot of giggling. I can only get the red light on - not green... which means there's a short or something I think. The L part is so hot to touch... I could cook a tiny chicken on it - I'm sure it's a fire hazard. I can't leave it to back up for a few hours.... it would probably burn m,y house down. They tried to make the power cord super-thin so it has a cool Apple factor. I'd much rather they made it reliable!!

    NOTE: A hint.. when you call Apple to complain about this... make sure you emphasize how hot the L part is.... that's the key to getting them to send you one for free. They're afraid of liability.

    Fuse

    So, there's a fuse in the plug of the adapter. What I'd like to know is why there is a fuse there if the stupid thing just keeps popping anyways? I've been told that the power adapters keep popping because "they are electrical devices and can't compensate for changes in power." That's what a FUSE is for; to pop the fuse before it pops the device.

    Apple I love you but this is wrong.

    Plain and simple, your adapters are a bane to your product lineup. Good thing consumers don't realize this when they purchase a MBP though right?

    Anyway I absolutely adore 99% of what Apple does and stands for but these adapters have got to go.

    Rubbish

    I have had my macbook for three years and at the moment im running on my last battery power as yet again another charger has broken 4 in three years is just insane. so far i e spent 200£ on chargers and another 90 on a battery. when will apple sort out there charging issues !!!!

    Terible

    Prone to twisting and damaging fragile interface between the hard shell and the wire. Third charger in 18 months as used for work and packed in bag few time s a week. Has seriously damaged my perception of Apple, and the replacement cost///!!!!!!! really, seriously outrageous!!! can buy a netbook for £160!!, might as well as have another dead mack product till I can get anew charger..totally unaceptable.
