Very useful adapter (and it is USB 3/2/1 compatible)

Note; This is a review of the actual product, not a commentary about the price or whether Apple should fit use USB C to their latest laptops, or include the adapter "in the box".

One thing I wondered when deciding to buy this product or not, was if it was USB3 compatible or not. Answer; YES, it is. It has standard dual connectors in the socket that will allow it to connect USB3 devices at full speed as well USB2/1 devices.

There were also some reviews that commented about the connector being too tight. I don't know if they've changed the design but mine is snug without being too tight. It will snugly hold any USB3 device/cable you plug into it, but you can pull it out as needed.

So far it has connected to all the standard USB devices I have tested it on. I find it very useful and well worth the money.

A review about the actual product

so a lot of people are reviewing this product based on convenience, which is understandable.I don't want to have to buy a separate accessory either, but that is how apple is I am afraid sigh. The price is high but the product itself is useful and operates fine. Although I understand why people want to scrutinise the inconvenience of buying this separately, it is misleading for people who need to buy it. I almost didn't buy this as based on the stars as I thought there was something malfunctioning in the actual accessory as opposed to people simply complaining about apple's accessory system. so if you need a review on how well this works, buy it because if you are like me and need to plug in all your old accessories into a computer then yes it is necessary I'm afraid and it does its job.

It works really well and does the job it says it does. I've read other reviews saying the USB port is quite tight, but mine is just the right size and works perfectly well.

    Worth the purchase.

Although I agree with a lot of other concerns, like apple products are already expensive, for such a cheap to produce adapter, it could be included in the box with the product. On the other hand though, I appreciate the essential adapters like this and the iPhone headphone adapter being kept to £9 instead of £30. I also have no problems with the ports on the MacBook already like a lot of people seem to mention, technology is advancing and until the rest of the industry catches up, using an adapter doesn't bother me. This product works fine and does the job, it is just a shame the larger adapter with hdmi, USB-A and USB-C couldn't be cheaper.

This is brilliant!, but I also have to agree, after paying almost £1300 for a MacBook, this really should've been included with it! Quite annoyed about that as you really can't do much without it.
