    Excellent Wireless Headphones

    • Written by Dudley L from Basildon

Very impressed with these AirPods. Most important for me first and foremost was the sound and for an eternity I did not buy these believing that they would be too tiny, as they were not the In-ear "sealing" type (i.e. earphones that insert fully in the ear forming a seal with the rubberized soft section). Also I based the sound on the old classic wired EarPods which did sound painfully tinny to me. However the AirPods incredibly give quite a decent sound much to my surprise and relief!

The shape and design of the Airpods are decent and small. The charging case is very well made and the AirPods get magnetically sucked into them rather nicely for storage and charging.

The Airpods could do better though when using them with other devices apart from the usual Apple products, primarily with Windows laptops/tablets. After all the Airpods are using the Bluetooth "standard" which should work well with other devices incorporating the Bluetooth connection standard. They work for the most part but with both setup issues but more importantly it's during use that issues are experienced. Momentary loss of connection for one or both AirPods and initial delay in engaging sound/mic connection when using, i.e. Rosetta Stone on the PC may find the AirPods problematic as the AirPod's Mic may not kick-in quick enough from it's auto muting technology or noise cancelling technology. This makes the AirPods almost unusable for this, which is why I may be focusing on the Version 2 of AirPods when released.

    Great sound

    • Written by Matthew H from Dewsbury

I've just bought these today after using a pair of wired Bose earphones. The sound is amazing, just as good as from my Bose ones. They are very light though and can feel a little loose in the ears which is why I've given four stars and not five. But I've ordered a paid of silicone tips from Amazon which should sort this out and make them feel more secure. It's a shame Apple don't offer a paid of tips as standard. Other than that little niggle they are excellent, small and powerful and really easy to paid to my iPhone 8 Plus. Another quality product from Apple.

My favorite Apple product since the iPod

    • Written by Blake I from Wapwallopen

These have quickly replaced my much more expensive Bose QC35 headphones as my favorite commute accessory. I wear them constantly. If they were just a little more stable in my ears I’d give a 5-star review (I have trouble keeping almost any in-ear headphones completely secure).

Great to use, poor functionality and fiddly pairing

    • Written by Valan C

Coming from the cord Apple EarPods, the AirPods just disappear in my ears. Pairing between MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad is, I feel, more fiddly than it needs to be.
Functionality is a little disappointing as I miss the ability to skip forward or jump back 30 seconds.

These could be solved with a Siri update.

    The best portable EarPods

    • Written by Nabil A from Sheffield

It work seamless and to the high standards of Apple. I’ve been having it since it first came out had no problem. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5/5 is the isolation not really great and the connection not 100% reliable

I brought these because I was fed up of being shackled with the earphones that came with my iPhone, sound quality while not amazing is much better than the stock headphones that come with  devices, they are easy to set up. They just work!! What I really like is they work with my iPhone, Mac, Watch and TV and they change automatically to whatever device im playing music on. Well worth buying.

    Love Them

    • Written by Martyn C from Stourport-on-Severn

I had concerns that the sound quality would be the same as the standard apple in-ear headphones & that I should be looking at over ear headphones instead for good quality Bluetooth headphones. But I have found air pods a joy to use, the usual high quality apple product with superior sound, great stereo separation, & a satisfying bass response. Love the iPhone display of the air pod & charging case charge status when the case is open, very neat.
Now that I know Bluetooth can be used whilst phone is in airplane mode is a real bonus & was the decision maker for me. Very happy to recommend them.

    AirPods-The Tangle Free Future.

    • Written by Neil S from Heanor

As the proud owner of PowerBeats 3 I never opted for Apple’s AirPods originally as I felt I didn’t really need them and was also frightened of losing them (pro tip: set up Find my iPhone and you can track the location of your AirPods).

Having seen a good friend with them recently I must admit I was easily swayed and opted to indulge in a pair and needless to say it’s not a decision I regret.

Gone is the annoying habit of getting your wires tangled up and wondering why your music has stopped (because you’ve caught yourself too many times and pulled the cord out!)

Audio quality is great but not stellar (sorry Apple); audiophiles will argue otherwise but I find my PowerBeats 3 have better range and quality over the AirPods.

The charging case is great; it uses Apple’s Lightning cable which is useful if you have a few of them lying around at home. A few minutes in the case means you can easily listen beyond the quoted playback time of five hours.

Also like the feature in whereby you can place both AirPods in the carry case. Open the lid and hold it near your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad and it’ll show the battery life remaining in each AirPod plus the battery percentage of the case itself.

All in all? Definitely the way forward and am glad Apple came out with this.

    Great bit of kit

    • Written by Andrew M from Inverness

I had spent quite some time wondering whether or not it would be worth investing in a pair of AirPods, reading many reviews, and trying to justify the cost to myself. I can gladly say that they were worth the purchase.

I had read that volume wise they weren’t as good as the wired headphones. I can confirm that this is not the case, or at least it was t noticeable from my perspective. The sound, if anything, is much punchier at the low end. Does the sound quality justify spending £160? ....certainly not. However, the freedom of having no cables getting snagged on things is worth every penny.

Over the years I have owned various brands/styles of headphones - Sony, Panasonic, Philips, JVC, Sennheiser, E-Shure, etc. What did they all have in common?.......all of them failed due to cable issues. Cables getting caught on handles, in zips, trapped in drawers and what not. Over time the cables are damaged beyond repair, and in most cases cannot be repaired/replaced, so they’re flung in the bin. The e-Shure headphones cost me £120 alone, and that was a decade ago (to date, they had the best quality of sound by a mile though). This is how I managed to justify the price

What if they fall out of my ears??? - everyone has different shaped ears, so there may be people who may not get a good fit. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the AirPods even remotely budging from my ears. In fact, the wired headphones were more prone to coming out of my ears due to cable snagging. I had my first run with them in today and there were no issues with the AirPods working loose.

    Why 4 ⭐️, not 5??? - are they worth £160?, no. £100-120 would be a fairer price.

What could be improved? - more controls. I can set my double tap on each ear to either skip track/play previous. The problem is that I then can’t assign a double tap to activate Siri, or any other double-tap function. Hopefully Apple will find a way of adding additional functionality without having to opt for which ones you’d use most. I’d like to skip tracks, change volume, and activate Siri by using different tap commands (why not have a triple tap option??)

    Great product

    • Written by Anthony S from Kettering

Overall this product is really good. They feel more comfortable in my ears than the EarPods do and I'm very pleased I don't have a wire dangling down, getting in my way now.
One problem (for me), is that if you want to change the volume or track, you need to ask Siri. I think if it had certain touch commands, it would be easier for people who don't want to always talk out loud and ask Siri.

Other than that, I love the product

    Wireless, less hassle and lightweight

    • Written by Peter N from Chiswick

The wireless earphones are perfect for those who prefer to have no wires and a comfortable experience with earphones.

In terms of music quality it is almost identical to the EarPods (ones with wire). These are not noise cancelling.

The high price is justified though, it has wireless texhnology, comes with a charging case and a brand spanking box with a charging wire and a concise booklet on how to connect, play and other useful features.

Overall AirPods are worth the upgrade from any earphones, especially the EarPods, as they are less hassle, offer a lightweight and highly comfortable experience with extra features of wireless technology such as play pause, Siri activation and video/music pausing without having to use the phone. It is discreet. I understand why it is difficult to get, high demands.

So great to finally remove the cord and listen freely.

    • Written by Matthew A from Herne Bay

My satisfaction rating with this is 100%, the sound quality is comparable to that of the wired ear pods with slightly better volume, clarity and bass. Being bluetooth though Siri still sounds like it's talking to you from inside a fridge (every pair of bluetooth headphones i've ever owned has do this), but the mics are stellar and pick up everything. Besides a few issues I'd still recommend these to anyone.

My partner bought me these as a surprise (I would never have paid the price). Verdict. I LOVE ❤️ THEM. But....background noise is terrible. Why???? So disappointed with this aspect. In a quiet room they are bliss. Go to the gym and you can barely hear them.

    Worth the wait......

    • Written by Craig G from Clevedon

Thankfully when I went to order these my local store had stock so picked up same day as the lead times to shipping were putting me off.
However having had them a few days now I am really pleased with them. Sound quality is really good, they are not going to blow your mind and if you are after thumping bass then maybe look at others but ease of use is great too. Pairing took secs and I have multiple devices which all sync'ed and really easy to switch. I found the wired headphones really comfortable and these are just as comfortable in me ear.

My only real moan is controls. Either you need more features as options for the double tap or maybe touch on the stalks for things like volume, answer calls etc.

In summary great kit and really pleased.

AirPods - great product, just a few tweaks needed

    • Written by Steven F from Peterborough

Excellent product, well worth the money. Battery life is really good, intelligent, very sleek and comfortable. Despite all the critics, these AirPods don't fall out if running etc. Siri needs a few more tweaks, not as reliable as using the home button on the iPhone. Would be even better if one tap on either AirPod could fast forwards a music track. This could easily be applied with a future IOS update. The only real criticism I have is that the AirPods are a bit fiddly to get out of the case especially the first one. The lid needs to flip back a bit further or the case needs to be a bit bigger.

I needed some new headphones as my wired Apple ones broke, so felt I should take the plunge to pick these up. The sound quality is amazing and they fit in my ears perfectly. Currently to skip a song or to adjust the volume you have to double tap and speak to Siri, however if you are not connected to Wifi or don't have a signal this isn't possible. You can adjust the double tap settings for the headphones to either activate Siri or Play/Pause your music. There are a few improvements I feel could be made with a simple software update, to skip a song a triple tap to either headphone could be programmed in and to adjust the volume a single tap on the left headphone could turn the music up and a single tap on the right headphone could turn the music down. Overall they are great piece of technology and definitely a move in to the future (no more wires).

    Worth the price!

    • Written by Mark S from Houghton le Spring

These headphones bring an all new level of convenience, they are So easy to use & Look gorgeous too. The volume is the only area that could be slightly better, having said that though, the audio quality is still very high and on par with most other bluetooth headphones, but not quite up to The volume of some other high end wired headphones (understandably so). I would highly recommend buying these.
