    WARNING!! It ruins your battery

It does work. It will disintegrate after about a year. However the big problem is how it charges your phone. Despite the reviews and all the advertising it is not a ‘smart’ case. It simply tops up your phone battery to 100%. If you do this for an extended period of time it will ruin your battery. My phone is rarely below 100% as the case tops it up. Each night I turn the phone off and charge the case on its own. But I noticed recently that after the case discharged, the phone’s battery discharages almost immediately. I went into the store and was told that the case has destroyed the battery - and that it should only be used once the phone is running low. Then taken off again once it’s charged. Which means carrying the case around seperately. That makes it totally pointless!

Does not work as stated! AVOID!!!!!

    Lifespan no good

I’ve had two of these now, pith have failed after just over a year. Contacted Apple
However was advised to buy a new one each time.

Started of great, good battery life. Then connections between phone and case started to fail. Then stopped charging up completely.

Silicone case started to break after 4 months.

Have now gone back to the Mophie Juice Pack, much more solid product. Plus slightly cheaper.

    Don’t do it !

At first I was really impressed with this product but after a year it is falling apart. The case has split in three places making it look really cheap and unattractive. The protection it offers has been compromised by this to. I look after my tech, it’s not had a hard life so as far as I’m concerned this is just poor quality and clearly not designed to last.

For £99 I expect a lot better than this.

    What a waste of money.

    Works Great until 1 Year

I really liked my Smart battery case for 1 year 20 Days. Then the silicone on the top right corner started to disintegrate without warning. Since then the whole corner has just broken off. Apple claim this is 'wear & tear'. £100 for 1 year use of the product? What a waste.

    Abysmal

The battery function of this case is brilliant. However the actual case itself is awful. Silicone has torn and is peeling off the case, making it unusable. Apple told me this was normal wear and tear, it is also impossible for the silicone to be replaced. You have to pay for a replacement product at full price as wear and tear isn’t covered in the warranty. If not for the terrible quality of the material used and how short a time period the product has lasted (5 month) this would be a higher rating. But charging me £99 every time, even though only the silicone has broken down rather than the actual battery side of things is unreasonable and inexcusable.

    better than i thought..

some history - i bought a punk case iphone battery case about 1 year ago and gave up using it because it was utter useless.
so buying this one i was very apprehensive. totally unwarranted:
this case is absolutely worth the £100
beautiful texture - easy to fit - and works absolutely brilliantly - i still have 100% battery after 12 hours of hard usage.

I bought the product red - and the colour is fabulous

5* - and i will only buy apple products now rather than other manufacturers poor efforts to replicate quality

    Don't buy

I've literally had to replace this case three times. Works fine for a month or two, then stops charging the iPhone 7, only partially charges it or can't be charged itself unless the iPhone is not connected. The iPhone sometimes says, "This accessory may not be supported." The battery widget also sometimes refers to the case as AID UPS instead of Smart Battery Case.

Apple is no longer selling these in stores (just online) and did not release one for the iPhone 8 or X; I suspect it knows the design is defective.

    Poor Quailty Materials

Bought two of these cases for my sons. After less than 9 months both cases are falling apart. Took to Apple Store and was told wear and tear, which I simply do not accept. The material used in the case does not appear fit for purpose. I cannot recommend this case and it is not what I expect of a supposed premium product.

    GOOD BATTERY, QUALITY IS SHOCKING

I've had this case for 15 months now, my phone is constantly in and out of my pocket due to using it for work. This case WORTH £99 is not worth it. After 4 months the case had shinny corners compared to its matt body. Now this was fine, until 6 months later from when I brought it, when little CHUNKS started going missing after one or two small drops. At this point it started to worry me. now 12 months later and where you push down to slide the phone in and out, has caused a tare next to the phones volume buttons and the lock button. Now its been 12 and a 1/2 months since the purchase. apple couldn't do anything. now 14 months later the tares have now expanded and now there is chunks of the case missing.

    Great but heavy!

I tend to use this case when I need it, if I know I am on a day out where I will be taking lots of pics or vids it’s great to have in the drawer, fully charged and ready to go.

For me as a day to day case it’s way to heavy! I suddenly become aware of the phone in my pocket!

I also wish it was not the shape it is! A big lump on the back.

    Speakers are good! Really good.

Functionally it works and is great for days out.

    Perfect solution

I bought this case when I upgraded to an iPhone 7 from a 6 when I used a mophie case. This is much better. It is lighter than the mophie, you can check the case power alongside the phone power on the screen and does genuinly last all day. I fully charge the phone and case (this is done via lightning on one charge) overnight, take it off charge at 05:30 and have never run out when I re-charge at the end of the day (usually has over 50% of the case charge remaining). I couldn't be without this quality product.

    Wears easily

Although the case works fine for charging the phone, all of the case corners had started to rub off within a week. I've had this case around a month now and it looks so worn, like I've had it for a couple of years. Makes the apple product look very shoddy

    One thing missing...

My main gripe with this case is the lack of a flip cover to protect the screen of the phone. It works well though I have to be honest and say it doesn't last as long power-wise as my previous powercase which was not an Apple product. That said, it does ensure I can go from early morning to late at night with heavy usage and not worry about the phone dying. I have gone two days with lighter usage and it's handy being able to see how much power is left in both the case and the phone itself. Is it worth £99 when you can get independent makes that are more powerful for less than £15? I'd have to say no. At half the price I'd thoroughly recommend it as it does have the renowned Apple quality but this really is overpriced, even for Apple! So, does it work? Yes. Is it good quality? Yes. Is it for people for whom the price isn't an issue? Perhaps if they don't mind not having protection for the front screen (yes, I know you can put a glass protector on but I'd still prefer something that absorbs impact of dropped or knocked). It IS a good product but I wouldn't pay this full price again.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT ESPECIALLY WITH POOR IPHONE 7 BATTERY PERFORMANCE

EXCELLENT PRODUCT ESPECIALLY WITH POOR IPHONE 7 BATTERY PERFORMANCE

Bought this case at Gatwick Airport last week as my iPhone 7 battery appears to last a few hours maximum from full charge :(

Cost was £99 if I recall which if you think that an original Apple silicone case costs £40 ish isn't that bad value

It's very robust and although it does increase the size and weight of your iPhone 7 considerably it actually feels pretty heavy duty from a protection perspective - for instance I think this would sustain a hefty knock if you dropped your phone

In terms of functionality it's very easy to fit your phone into the case and you just charge as normal - your phone battery will charge first and then once at 100% the case will charge too - then once fully charged the case battery gets used first then your phone battery

Additional good points include forward facing phone speakers and you can also charge the case independently from the phone too if you need to

    10/10 product for me

    Smart battery case

I got this to try out because I'm was on the go and sometime I'm not near a power supply to charge my iPhone the case is no worth £99.00 for what it does, I took my iPhone off charge at home then I was out for day and my iPhone was constantly charging when I took it off the charger then I was doing my day to day stuff etc using satnav on my iPhone it dead on me about 5pm then after I could use my phone battery I thought it's was as and when to use the battery on case, I think it's bit pointless if you're iPhone battery dead to when you need case to kick in.

    Wouldn't be waithout this now.

I own a iPhone 7 in black and love it so to protect my investment I bought a red apple silicone case as I wanted an official apple case rather than some 3rd party case that never quite has the fit and finish that apples cases offer. I saw the apple smart battery cases at this time but just couldn't tempt myself to spend £99 on a case even though it had a battery built in. A few months later I was out xmas shopping and in my local electronics store I saw a apple smart battery case that was practically brand new for sale at around half the retail price so I decided to sell my recently purchased silicone case and try this instead. I am now a huge fan of the battery case as it adds even more protection and boosts the speaker volume due to the design of the casing. My battery life is practically double making a days very heavy usage easily achievable. I also like the way it doesn't require any switches to be turned on or off, you just slide your phone in until it connects with the lightening connector and then the iPhone software shows you two battery status bars one for the pihones battery and one for the apple smart case. The case battery will be used first followed by the iPhones once the cases battery has depleated. This is great because if you were to remove the iPhone at any time your iPhone will have a full charge ready and waiting. The extra bulk on the back actually adds grip and the extra weight becomes something you adjust to quickly. Still very pocketable and now something you can use without fear of running out of battery. Looking back I should have paid the £99 for this as once you own it you realise its more than just a battery case it's the best case apples ever made and is a perfect match for my iPhone 7. I'd recommend this to every iPhone owner.

    Honest Review

I've been using this case (in black) for 5 months on my IPhone 6s.

The case provides great extended battery life. It uses the case battery first before draining the main phone battery and a swipe of the screen shows you both case and phone battery percentages. The case makes the phone heavier but IMO it does so making the phone a nice weight. Its not too heavy but also not too light where you feel the phone is easy to drop. Grip is great and the phone fits on my belkin charger stand no problem. The case also doesn't interfere with the camera lens or flash and I'm sure it would provide a good shock protection if the phone was dropped.

My only concern is after 5 months use the non slip feel is going around the edges and I've got two pin holes in the rubber. One on the front face lip and one on the corner which has began peeling back. Fully acceptable with wear and tear but price v's 5 months durability makes me drop a start.

That saying I've got my wife and mother the same case for their phones.

    Neat case

I bought this on the day I bought my 7. It's an excellent case that the phone recognises (swipe right for battery and case percentages) and gives me all day juice - easily. 2 days probably with lighter use. Made of a nice non slippy material - highly recommended.
