    Awesome product

I had a router that came from a CERTAIN TERRI BLE cable company and my service kept cutting out every 5 minutes. I finally discovered it was the router. I turned down said cable company's offer to send a new one for a fee and went out and bought this. i love it. ive had it for about 2 weeks and it has never once cut out. It's one of the best apple products I have ever bought!

Not sure why there's so many bad reviews.

I have had no problems at all with my AirPort Express. I love it. It's the perfect product, especially for an Apple lover such as myself. I have my MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple TV all hooked up to it and it's very fast and reliable. The range could be a little better, but this is the base model, I'm sure the Time Capsule will be better, which I plan on getting as well.

Lacks Features and Web UI, Overpriced

I would have expected some extra features like:
    - Bluetooth Audio. Ok I know it has AirPlay but bluetooth is a basic thing nowadays specially on routers that can stream media.
    - Web UI. Any $30 home router has a built-in web interface, this one needs the AirPort utility application installed on your PC or Apple devices. It's really inconvenient to have to depend on the AirPort Utility in order to be able to configure it.
    - The WiFi coverage is OK but not the best for a $99 router.

Conclusion: It does it's job and works OK, however, it's really overpriced considering the features it has and the ones it lacks.

    Awful

If it works it is slow. It hardly works and don't even get coverage in my entire apartment which is only 1200 sq. ft. Waste of money

    Horrible

Don't buy this product. It worked good at first but after about 5 months it would never even pick up the Internet. It would also drop signal when it was connected every 5 minutes. Go buy a cheaper router from a different brand and save your money it'll most likely work better to begin with.

    Apple Airport Express

This thing works OK as wifi but when it comes to feeding music from computer to amp and speakers it is flaky at best. Regularly just stops working, disconnecting at random. Such a great idea, shame it is not good enough.

Simple elegant solution to wifi range issues

I already use Ariport Extreme to create my wireless network for my family's computers, laptops, pads and iPhones. However, I couldn't get a decent signal in my family room at the other end of our house due to appliance interference and construction obstacles. I learned about Airport Express and purchased today. I simply plugged in the Express in my family room opposite the TV, waited a few seconds for my AirPort Extreme to recognize it and bam! We now could receive a strong signal to our TV. Works perfectly and as described.

Decline in Apple products; Airport constantly dropping form network.

I agree with Matty D's review. I have multiple Apple products in my family, (7) MacBooks, (6) iPhones (not including the older generations), (2) Apple tv's, (2) Airport Express, (1) Airport Extreme, and numerous Beats products as well. The Airport Express has to be the worst Apple product I own. Both of my Airports keep dropping from the network, and interrupt music streaming. Anytime I want to stream music via either of my Airports I have to unplug them from the power source, and then plug them back in. Even then, they may only play anywhere form 30 mins up to a full day before they drop from the network, loosing the ability to stream music. I have called Apple support and the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and nice. However, there was not a solution to fix the problem. It is very in-convent to have to stop whatever you are doing to reboot a streaming device. I have Sonos speakers in multiple rooms at our lake-house and the product works impeccably. I am currently looking for another solution to stream music at home.

AirPort Express is Apple's worst product ever

I don't know how Apple can get away with producing such a bad product. Try to link two AirPort Express devices and you know why it's such a bad product. I am trying to extend my wifi network with a second AirPort Express in order to stream music wireless. The connection constantly interrupts and this completely destroys my listening experience. I am actively searching for something better. Don't let Apple do your wifi connection! You will be dissappinted.

    Wonderful Product

Please don't go by all the bad reviews about this product. It is a wonderful product. Brought one for home use and it'a been really improving my Wi-Fi speed. Quick and easy to setup using AIrPort Utility. Been also great for Printing. Have an AirPrint HP Printer which was so old it didn't work with my brand new MacBook Pro 15inch Mid 2015 model. After connecting it to my Base Station Wi-Fi (this product) I was able to start printing and using it on my new Mac. I highly recommend this product to anyone. Apple is a great company and makes great products.

    Waste of money!

You can't find devices by IP address only MAC address and even when you see the MAC address, you can't find out the IP address. Can't believe I bought this! Save your money!

    I have 3

The Airport Utility makes setup trivial. In less than 5 minutes I had a functioning wireless network. I bought two more and extended my network around and outside the house. This is awesome in the summer/spring time when I am sitting in the backyard sipping a cold brew or early morning coffee while reading on my iPad Air.

Easiest router I've ever set up!

Sure you could probably save twenty bucks on some d link router. However, this router was so simple to setup its totally worth it! It took like three steps. Plug in, imac detect it, then name router, DONE! Also and this may just be my expierence but I noticed my wifi was significantly faster.

    Surprisingly top notch

Gotta say, after dealing with leased modem/router combos with significant issues from my ISP and many of the top networking companies routers having serious reliability issues I decided to pick one of these up. I snagged a used Express from an onlin retailer to give it a try. We have a few macs, iPhones and a few PC's in our house amongst other wireless enabled devices and we had always had issues, but they were all resolved upon hooking this up. My network space isn't too cluttered so we don't have too many issues using either band or dropped signal. Streaming is great, pages load nicely. I was kind of surprised, I know apple isn't quite a networking company but this little guy holds up. So much that I bought a new AirPort Extreme for a little upgrade and it's working wonderfully. Think these will stay my daily drivers for all things home wifi for a while.

    This is very good

I find this very good, my only negative is that the USB port is only for a printer and can not support an external drive. Also, i actually prefer the previous design where the whole thing plugged in to the electric socket instead of this design where there is a cable. Other than that, I find it to be very good and reliable, and incredibly easy to set up.

    Great!!

Extened my network range easily with a few taps from my iPhone. Don't know why I didn't do this sooner.

Excellent Solution to Extend our Wireless Network

I used to have a router that was powerful enough to provide wifi signal to an entire electronic retail store. But in my home we had a dead spot in our bedroom that was located behind a brick wall, full of pipes, wiring and everything else. This "strong" router couldn't penetrate this. I already had the Airport Express set up before as a base station router (I got the other router thinking it would solve my dead spot problem based on its strength). I bought a second Airport Express, set it up instantly in our bedroom with my phone's airport utility app - and boom! Dead spot gone and we have great signal throughout the house. Works really well. Looks great and eliminates clutter. Very pleased with this purchase.

    Great Wifi Router and Repeater

I absolutely love this. It's small and strong! I live in a concrete house and getting a wifi signal to connect to the bedrooms is hard. I had this in my living room and it reached into my room. I got a second one to extend the signal to the back of my house.

AirPlay and Spotify brought me out of the Stone Age

I've been a bit of a Luddite when it comes to music streaming -- didn't understand the benefits of Spotify and thought my Beocenter 2 from about 2002 was still state of the art. I was actually still buying music CD's!

Story is too long to re-tell but bottom line is that I discovered that I could stream music, using Airport Express, to my existing B&O system. How cool!

Bought the Express and had streaming with Spotify up and running in five minutes flat (no BS). It works perfectly and, with Spotify, I have unbelievable access to any/all music on the planet!

So for $100 I've brought my mega-buck, but obsolete, stereo system into the 21st century and have a whole new perspective on music -- what I listen to, how I access it, everything! It really is revolutionary -- AirPlay and Spotify. (I suppose Apple Music is similar)

If anyone is looking to buy a bunch of old CD's I have several hundred...

PS Reason I gave only 4 stars is that I haven't explored the other capabilities of the Express yet.
