  • Overview

The USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter lets you connect your USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) enabled Mac to a VGA display, while also connecting a standard USB device and a USB-C charging cable.

The USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter allows you to mirror your Mac display to your VGA-enabled TV or display in up to 1080p HD. It also outputs video content like movies and captured video. Simply connect the adapter to a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your Mac and then to your TV or projector via a VGA cable (sold separately).

Use the standard USB port to connect devices such as your flash drive or camera or a USB cable for syncing and charging your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. You can also connect a charging cable to the USB-C port to charge your Mac.

Note: The Apple USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter is not compatible with the G-Tech G-DRIVE mobile USB 3.0 Hard Drive (Apple part number HF4F2VC/A).

For some currently unknown reason, the video on an external monitor glitches periodically to a low resolution and the only way to reset it is to change the resolution to some other value and then back to best for monitor setting. I have found it best to not use this adapter with external USB drives of any kind. Sometimes the drive decides to unmount in the middle of a read or write operation--Not good for data integrity or drive performance. The biggest negative is that there are no documented alternatives that do not have similar poor reviews. I guess this line of netbooks, oh, sorry, premium Apple notebooks with USB-C really isn't meant to be used with any external peripherals ... other than a charger and a set of ... headphones ...

      Useless since last update

C'mon, what is this? Not even worth a single star...

      Absolute Garbage

This adapter doesn't work. Period. I needed it for a presentation, and when I got to the auditorium, I couldn't display graphics.

Then on and off, MacBook Pro told me that I didn't eject the USB drive properly but I always did. Then one day MacBookPro completely didn't recognize the USB from the adapter at all. The notebook still recognize the monitor from the adapter though. However, I hardly used the monitor with that adapter. This is so bad!

When i connect it to usb-c almost on every minor moving of my laptop it disconnects and my display flickers. This USB-C adapter has a very poor quality. I think Macbook's usb-c port has the same poor quality too. Don't buy it, go for an unofficial adapter. I was expected for this money to get a premium quality not a low one. I am very dissapointed
