I will be running web meetings and if my laptop shifts or I bump the cable, the network disconnects, killing my meeting. It's really frustrating to have spent $2,000, then $30 for this connector and have unreliable Internet. I don't know if the flaw is with the adapter or laptop ports, or both. Just ridiculous to have this problem. I was better off with tech in the 1990s, then I plugged in network cable and it never failed.

This doesn't work in El Capitan when using high speed 1000BaseT gigabit eth

In a Macbook pro Retina Late 2013 with OSX 10.11.4, it doesn't support gigabit ethernet. It works fine with 100baseTX but it doesn't work with 1000BaseT.

      Stops working

I used to have one to get an HDMI connection (before it became standard in the MacBookPro), which I used 10 times before it quit. No buying these expensive gadgets from Apple anymore.

Big speed improvement over USB to ethernet, plus gaining back the USB port is huge. Did notice that the Thunderbolt connectors can become disconnected, but when the etheret speed drops, its the obvious fix - so not a big deal for me. Using the Thunderbolt 2 port for an external hard drive is probably the best use of this port, but unfortunately I guess it doesn't make sense for drive makers at less than a $400 price point.

Works well for me on High Sierra, no issues

I was skeptical about buying this at first due to the review but it has performed without issue for many months now. Great buy.

      ditto - stops working

same as others have reported, it gets unreliable and then stops working altogether. I can't think of any reason a part like this should "wear out"
