  • Overview

This 2-meter charge cable — with USB-C connectors on both ends — is ideal for charging USB-C devices, and also supports USB 2 for syncing and data transfer between USB-C devices. To conveniently charge your Mac from a wall outlet, pair the USB-C Charge Cable with a compatible USB-C power adapter, sold separately.*

*Apple recommends pairing MacBook with USB-C port with the 29W USB-C Power Adapter, 13-inch MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with the 61W USB-C Power Adapter, and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with the 87W USB-C Power Adapter.

      Not your typical USB-C cable

Transfers data slowly and doesn't support video.

They redid the jacket of the cable so I suspect we will see a lot less pealing and fraying like old mag safe. The cable supports USB device and 100 Watt USB-C PD. This is huge for a 20 dollar cable. This cable is one of the few things apple priced lower than the value it delivers. The cable is also already the max length supported by USB-C PD.

This cable would need to support USB-C 3.1 gen 2 to support maximum USB data transfer speeds, but it doesn't — which is a huge disappointment. (As an aside, it's frustrating that Apple doesn't include this cable with the standalone charger for USB-C MacBook Pros — either that or lower the cost of the charge to reflect the cost of the missing, but essential, cable).

Very poorly designed and can easily break

Almost destroyed my Macbook Pro 2016. Cannot handle too much twists, can create short circuit and burn ports and motherboard. Use with caution
