How well can Pro Tools run on a Mac Mini?
I am beginning a course in Audio and Music Production in September so I thought it was finally time to upgrade to a Mac. I haven't much money and I favour my monitor so the Mac Mini really appealed to me. However, I'm worried it may not be able to handle Pro Tools as well as other Macs as the fact it is so much cheaper that the others scares me. So can anyone help me with my question?

The Mac Mini is a very capable machine and with the upgraded i7 processor and 8GB of RAM it should run all but the most demanding tasks well.
You can easily upgrade the RAM yourself so you don't have to pay the Apple Premium.
The top of the line Mac Mini isn't as cheap as you think! With the RAM upgrade you're looking at £800. Add a good monitor and it can easily reach £1000.
A lot of professionals use the Macbook Pro which has the same 2.6GHz i7 but it can Turbo Boost to 3.5GHz.
Hope this helps!
