Whenever you pull your AirPods out of the charging case, they instantly turn on and connect to your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac.(1) Audio automatically plays as soon as you put them in your ears and pauses when you take them out. To adjust the volume, change the song, make a call, or even get directions, just double-tap to activate Siri.

    Driven by the custom Apple W1 chip, AirPods use optical sensors and a motion accelerometer to detect when they’re in your ears. Whether you’re using both AirPods or just one, the W1 chip automatically routes the audio and engages the microphone. And when you’re on a call or talking to Siri, an additional accelerometer works with beamforming microphones to filter out background noise and focus on the sound of your voice. If you're on the fence (as I was) try them out and you will love them. One of the best products Apple has made, it follows the simplistic and high quality design this company is revered for.       awesome sound. you can use in one ear at a time, when you are biking , walking around doing home stuff and still be cognizant of sounds and things around you. t awesome sound. you can use in one ear at a time, when you are biking , walking around doing home stuff and still be cognizant of sounds and things around you. the best feature is of course the bluetooth connectivity thats so simple. open the case and put them in your ears. no buttons to press, no shenanigans at all. drawbacks- no colors only white for now. water resistant- maybe maybe not. and if someway they can get rid of the longer microphone stick sticking out of the ears.

      After a week of using the AirPods, I'm reminded of the transition from the old-style cell phone to the iPhone in 2007. I didn't realize how much I avoided using headphones just because of the hassle of cords with wired sets, and with charging, powering on/off, and pairing with Bluetooth sets. But these are a revelation, and make podcasts, music, and audiobooks a pleasure. They just work.

      Honestly, they are worth the $172. I am SO tired of replacing headphones every 6 months because the cord breaks. The AirPods sound so much better, they NEVER fall out of my ears and charge very quickly. Apple products are just superior in so many ways. They have their flaws like all technology, but working off of an apple keyboard, iMac, Magic Mouse, AirPods and iPhone make feel so much better about my work. I would totally recommend the investment in the AirPods if you use your headphones as often as I do (all day every day).
