Third-Party Plug-ins
Edit Plug-ins
Aperture 2 includes a powerful plug-in architecture for the seamless integration of popular third-party image editing software. Editing plug-ins already available for Aperture 2.1 include the Dfx Digital Filter Suite from the Tiffen Company; Power Stroke, Light!, and Ozone from Digital Film Tools; dpMatte from dvGarage; and Viveza from Nik Software. Plug-ins from several other developers, including Image Trends (Fisheye-Hemi 1, 2, and 3), and PictureCode (Noise Ninja) are expected soon.
Aperture 2.1 also includes an Apple-developed plug-in, Dodge & Burn, that provides tools for making selective edits of images with Dodge (lighten), Burn (darken), Blur, Sharpen, and Saturation effects.
The free Imaging Plug-in Software Development Kit (SDK) for Aperture is now available through the Apple Developer Connection (ADC). Interested developers should visit the ADC website and download the SDK.

Export Plug-ins
Apple partners have written a variety of export plug-ins you can use to extend your workflow beyond Aperture. These plug-ins — such as ÜberUpload, Aperture2Gmail, Aperture BorderFX, GLOBALedit Export, and Aperture to Picasa Web Albums — expedite FTP uploads, deliver photos to service bureaus, post them on social networking and photo-sharing sites, and much more.
