About Adobe Air
The code name for a cross-operating system runtime being developed by Adobe that allows developers to leverage their existing web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop.

Allows web developers to work with the development tools of their choice and the approaches they find most comfortable to build web content and AIR applications.

Allows web developers to extend their web-based applications to the desktop without learning traditional desktop development technologies or the complexity of native code. Applications developed for AIR will run across multiple operating systems without any additional work, and AIR applications can be built quickly because developers will leverage their existing web development skills and design patterns.
