Couches, beds, planes, trains, cars, cafés, conference rooms, and hotel rooms. Wherever you find yourself, an epic comedy, drama, and action-adventure is right there with you on iPad.
Your own mobile megaplex.
iPad doesn’t have buttons or a keyboard. It’s just one big, beautiful 9.7-inch screen, so you’ll be completely immersed in whatever you’re watching — from HD movies and TV shows to podcasts and music videos. And you can keep your movie-going going, thanks to the long-lasting iPad battery.
Flick through your flicks.
Swipe through your video library with a flick of your finger — your movies appear as poster art. Tap what you want to watch and it starts playing. Double-tap to switch between widescreen and full-screen views. (Or turn iPad sideways to watch in widescreen.) Tap to browse through chapters, pause, and stop. If you stop watching midway through, iPad remembers where you left off.
Every seat is great.
Because iPad uses IPS technology, it has an amazingly wide 178° viewing angle, so you can see video even from the side. IPS and the powerful built-in speaker make the iPad perfect for watching with a friend (or two). Just fold the iPad Smart Cover (sold separately) into movie-watching genius. And scoot over.
Stream to the big (and bigger) screen.
Now you can start a movie on the go and finish watching it on the biggest screen in the house: your HDTV. As long as your iPad and Apple TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, the AirPlay icon automatically appears.1 Tap it, and whatever you’re watching begins playing on your HDTV. You can also stream via video mirroring. Double click your Home button, swipe all the way to the right, and select AirPlay Mirroring. Or connect your iPad to your HDTV with the Apple Digital AV Adapter (sold separately). Video mirroring lets you play a movie on both your iPad and your HDTV or a bigger projection screen. All at the same time.
Tap into iTunes.
Tap the iTunes icon and you’ll find thousands of movies — including HD movies — ready and waiting for you to rent or buy.2 Browse around, watch a preview, and whatever you choose downloads to your iPad. You can also catch up on your favorite TV shows, watch music videos, and download podcasts.
iTunes in the Cloud.
Once you download a TV show from iTunes, you always have access to it, no matter which device you’re using. Say you bought the latest season of your favorite drama series on your computer but wish you had it on your iPad for a long plane ride. You can view your purchase history in the iTunes app and tap to download the episodes you want straight to your iPad via Wi-Fi.3
