New Categories make browsing Newsstand's offerings easier.

More and more publishers are discovering the value of digital versions of their publications for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Now you can easily explore the expanded offerings through 28 new categories ranging from Arts & Photography to Cooking, Food & Drink, including Automotive, Fashion & Style, News & Politics, Parenting & Family, Travel & Regional, and many more. To browse among the categories go to the App Store and tap the Categories tab on the bottom of the screen, then scroll down and tap the Newsstand category. Tap a sub-category to browse among the offerings within it. Select publications offer free samples or free trial subscriptions. To view the subscription offers, scroll down a publication's page on iPhone and iPod touch, or tap More and scroll down on iPad. When you subscribe, new issues appear in your Newsstand when they are released, and you can cancel your subscription at any time.

Getting rid of duplicate songs in your library.

If you have a large song library, duplicate copies are inevitable. To trim down to only what you want, use the Display Duplicates command in the File menu, then delete the songs you want to get rid of (you'll have the option to remove them from iCloud as well, and to put them in the trash on your computer). Because duplicate titles don't necessarily mean the versions themselves are the same, you'll want to check for tracks that are the same length. Drag the Time column next to the Name column so you can easily see which are true duplicates. You can also use View Options in the View menu to add a Bit Rate column if it's not already there, and drag it next to the Time column so you can also easily see if one copy is higher quality than another (higher bit rate means higher quality).
