We recently updated the web applications at me.com. In Mail, you can now see your unread message count in your Inbox and in each of your Mail folders, and forwarding or replying to HTML (rich text) messages now maintains the messages' original formatting. In addition, there is a direct link to Help in the toolbar. See this support article for more details and a summary of other improvements.
A reminder: for the best MobileMe experience, you should use the latest versions of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (if you use a Mac), iTunes and MobileMe Control Panel (if you use a PC), and iPhone OS 3.0 (iPhone or iPod touch).

With the availability of iPhone OS 3.0, MobileMe members can now use Find My iPhone to help recover a lost iPhone or remotely wipe the personal data on it.
To get started, use iTunes to update your iPhone software to iPhone OS 3.0, and then follow these steps:
On your iPhone's Home screen, tap Settings.
Tap Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
Make sure Fetch New Data is set to Push.
Select your MobileMe account and turn
on Find My iPhone.
We also recommend setting up a Passcode Lock on your iPhone, so only you can turn the Find My iPhone feature on and off. Go to Settings and tap General followed by Passcode Lock.
If your iPhone goes missing you can log into me.com on any computer to access Find My iPhone (under Account) and display your iPhone's approximate location on a map, write a message to be displayed on its screen, and play a continuous sound for two minutes even if the iPhone is set to silent. Or if you fear the worst, you can initiate a remote wipe to permanently erase your personal data and restore the iPhone to its factory settings. Watch this video to see how it all works.

The new iPhone 3GS lets you shoot video in addition to photos, and sharing those videos on your MobileMe Gallery works exactly the same. From your camera roll choose what you want to share — video or photo — tap the arrow in the lower left corner, and choose Send to MobileMe. Enter a title, choose the album you want to publish to, and tap Publish. (If there are no albums in your Gallery, one called "New Album" will be automatically created.) MobileMe members who use iCal on a Mac can publish calendars to MobileMe to share with friends and family. To publish an iCal calendar, simply click the calendar and select Publish from the Calendar menu. You can then send an email inviting other iCal users to subscribe.
Your friends and family can now subscribe to your published calendars and view them on their iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 3.0. They simply view the invitation email on their device and tap the link to set up the subscription to the calendar. At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2009 we announced Find My iPhone, a new MobileMe feature that lets you locate your lost iPhone on a map at me.com. You can write a message to display on your iPhone to help someone return it to you, and play a sound even when it is set to silent mode. And if you can't recover your iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to permanently erase the data on it.
Find My iPhone can be found at me.com today, but you also need iPhone OS 3.0 (available on June 17) installed on your iPhone to use the feature.

We've recently released MobileMe Control Panel for Windows version 1.4. It is recommended for those who use MobileMe for syncing contacts or calendar on a Windows PC connected to a corporate network that uses proxy servers (some corporations use proxy servers to access the Internet). Click here for information on the proxy servers it supports. If you already have the MobileMe Control Panel installed, you can automatically upgrade to version 1.4 by downloading and installing iTunes 8.2. If you don't already have the MobileMe Control Panel on your PC, see these instructions for installing and setting it up.

If you're an iPhone or iPod touch user you've probably already experienced the tight link between your Contacts and the built-in Maps application — tap an address and you're taken to its location on a map from Google. What you may not have noticed is similar functionality built into the MobileMe Contacts web application. When you click an address for one of your contacts there, a mini map from Google appears beside it. You can slide it around and use the Open in Google Maps link at the bottom in case you need something larger or want directions.

Recent updates to Apple's Airport firmware enable you to use Back to My Mac to remotely access files stored on Time Capsule (or a hard disk attached to AirPort Extreme with 802.11n) from a Mac running OS X Leopard. The device's disk will appear on your Mac in the Shared section of the Finder sidebar when you're connected to the internet, and you can treat it as a personal remote file server, dragging files to and from it as needed.
To set up a device, Open AirPort Utility on your Mac, click Manual Setup, then click Advanced in the toolbar and select MobileMe. Enter your MobileMe member name and password and click update. For more detailed instructions download the Back to My Mac User's Guide.

Because the MobileMe Contacts web app has built-in support for vCard (.vcf files), the industry standard for exchanging address book data, it's easy to import contact information or export contacts to share with others. Use the Action menu (the gear icon) in the toolbar for access to the Import and Export vCard commands. By the way, you can include more than one contact in a single vCard file simply by selecting multiple contacts before you use the Export vCard command.
