In May 2008, Apple discovered that some batteries used in its Intel Core Duo-based MacBook and MacBook Pro computers may have had battery performance issues. Customers would have purchased these systems between approximately February 2006 and April 2007. Apple offered a software update designed to address these issues, and provided a program to extend repair coverage on affected batteries for up to two years from the date of purchase.
As of May 31, 2009, this program is closed.
