Apple displays purchased separately
Q. How do I activate my AppleCare Protection Plan?
Complete and return the enclosed enrollment card immediately, or call
the 133 number listed on the card. After you enroll, Apple will send you
a Protection Plan Certificate as proof of coverage. The certificate
includes your agreement number, which you'll need to request assistance.
If you do not activate your coverage, you may experience a delay in
receiving phone support or repair service.
You will need to provide your product's serial number when you enroll.
Use the serial number on the product, even if it is different from the
serial number listed on the product box or sales receipt. To locate the
serial number, look on the back, on the bottom, or inside the I/O door
of your product.
Keep your original sales receipts for your Apple product and AppleCare
Protection Plan, in addition to the AppleCare Protection Plan
Certificate you will receive. Proof of purchase may be required if there
is any question as to your product's eligibility for Protection Plan
coverage.
Q. Coverage Information?
The AppleCare Protection Plan kit covers the Apple computer system
listed on the outside of the package. If you find that you have
purchased a Protection Plan that does not match your Apple system,
return this kit to your reseller or call the number on the
enrollment card for assistance.
You must purchase a separate kit for each system to be covered, and your
system must still be under the one-year limited warranty to qualify for
the Protection Plan.
An external Apple display is included with Power Mac coverage if the
display is purchased at the same time and is used with the covered
system. The Apple keyboard and mouse are covered if they are purchased
at the same time as, or are bundled with, the covered Apple system with
which they are used. An Apple AirPort Base Station and AirPort Card are
included in the coverage of the system with which they are used.
The AppleCare Protection Plan is valid in Australia. The Protection Plan
is subject to the terms and conditions in this brochure.
If you sell your covered product before the Protection Plan expires,
coverage is completely transferable to the new owner. See the terms and
conditions for more information.
Technical Support
If you are experiencing problems with your covered product, you should
first follow the diagnostic steps in the enclosed quick reference card
(including running TechTool Deluxe CD). If the problem is not resolved,
you may contact the Apple Service and Support line and follow the
prompts to receive technical assistance. Telephone hours may vary. Apple
reserves the right to change phone hours at any time.
You will need to provide your AppleCare Protection Plan agreement number
(on your certificate or on the CD envelope) before speaking with a
technical representative. This plan provides phone support for Apple's
hardware and operating system software as described in the terms and
conditions. The technical representative will diagnose the problem and
may walk you through testing and recovery steps as necessary.
Hardware Repair Service
If the technical phone representative determines that your product needs
repair, service options will be provided. One or more of the following
options may apply under the AppleCare Protection Plan:
- Carry-in service is available for most products at any Apple Authorised Service Provider in Australia.
- On-site service may be available for an additional fee, please ask your Apple Service provider for details.
- Express courier service may be available for most portable products. Apple dispatches a courier service to pick up your product and deliver it back after it is repaired at Apple's central repair facilities.
- Whole-unit exchange will be used for certain peripheral devices, accessories or cards. Apple will send you a replacement item and you will return the failed item to Apple.
