Arrangements.
Most songs are arranged in distinct sections: introduction, verse and chorus. GarageBand brings this kind of structure to your song. With the different sections clearly defined, you can rearrange your song at any time.
Define your arrangement.
By defining the structure of your song, you can quickly make broad changes to it later. When you create an arrangement region for any section, all the tracks below become part of it.
Edit an arrangement.
With your arrangement set, you can quickly rethink the structure of your song. Want to repeat a verse? Just copy and paste it. Want to move a chorus? Click and drag. All the tracks that belong to a section go along with it.
Multi-take recording.
Define a region.
Mark off the section of the song where you want to add your part. GarageBand repeats that section as you play, so you can lay down as many takes as you like.
Save every take.
Every take you perform is recorded and saved. GarageBand displays that part of your song as a multi-take region.
Pick your favorite take.
After you’ve recorded all of your takes, GarageBand makes it easy to pick the best one. As you play back your multi-take region, you can switch between takes in real time. Simply select your favourite and move on.
Change your mind, change your take.
Even after you’ve picked a take, GarageBand saves them all. That way, if you’re so inclined, you can select another take days or weeks later.
Visual EQ.
You don’t need to be an expert to tweak the sound of your mix in GarageBand. Using the built-in Visual EQ, you can adjust a track’s equalization simply by dragging the EQ bands until you get the sound you want.

If you prefer, simply choose from a variety of professionally designed presets that enhance your music automatically. GarageBand has well trained ears, just in case yours need a little help.
Automation of tempo effects and instruments.
Record producers use dynamically changing effects to keep a song sounding fresh and exciting from start to finish. GarageBand makes it easy to do the same by automating effect changes within a composition — so you don’t have to settle for one constant setting throughout.
Customise your mix.
Maybe you’d like to make that guitar a little louder during the chorus, then quiet down again during the verse. No problem. GarageBand lets you automate changes at multiple points in a track, so your mix can change with the flow.
Pick a parameter.
Don’t stop with the volume. You can change the tempo of your song at any point. Set effects or equalization to vary during the course of a song, too. GarageBand remembers all your changes and automates the adjustments as your song plays.

GarageBand automates Audio Unit instruments and effects as well as its own. No matter what sounds you use, you can set multiple edit points throughout your song.
