All managed by Mac
Like many schools, Christ Church has capitalised on the power and compatibility of Mac OS X to standardise its administrative systems on the Apple platform. File storage and network services are managed by 8 rack-mounted Xserve systems, while a 5.6 terabyte Xserve RAID provides ample high-speed storage. Australian-made Denbigh software, a specialist Mac OS X solution for the education sector, handles all administrative tasks from student records to finance, academic reporting and the school calendar.
“We have an AppleScript that takes data from the master Denbigh calendar and publishes it on the internet as an iCal calendar,” Murray explains. “Parents and students can subscribe to the calendar to keep up-to-date with school activities. It’s just another way Christ Church keeps parents involved in the education of their sons.”
