Corpus Christi Catholic High School
Introduction
A school that is set to make its mark in secondary education, the Diocese of Wollongong’s Corpus Christi, is providing its students with a learning experience that is as innovative as it is effective. Even though the school opened as recently as 2006, staff, parents and, most importantly, students, are already seeing enormous benefits arising from the use of Apple notebook technology as fundamental component of the education environment.

With 135 Year 7 students joining the school in January 2006, Corpus Christi implemented a one-to-one Apple notebook program. The school’s principal, Mrs Jenny Allen explains: “Each student has his or her own notebook, which is paid in part by the school and the parents paying the remainder of the cost over a four year period.”
As much a part of the students’ school day as textbooks and pens – more so in many cases – the Apple notebook computers are used extensively across the entire curriculum; and according to Mrs Allen, they play a crucial role in making education enjoyable. “Even the most mundane task can become fun for the students,” she says. “So much so, that some parents have told us their children are wishing away their weekends, as they want to get back to school.”
