The Personal Development Perspective
While Fuller is quick to point out the benefits podcasting brings to students, he is a strong advocate of podcasting as a personal development tool for teachers. "It opens up an entirely new world of ideas for people of all professions," he says. "From my own perspective, the best professional development experiences I've ever had are listening to the podcasts of other teachers from all around the world - essentially gaining a valuable insight into what other teachers are doing in the classroom and the success they're achieving; and it's a two-way street.
"We have students and teachers from all over Australia, as well as a growing number of countries, visit our site and listen to our podcasts," Fuller continues. "They're able to see the activities we have used as podcast subjects, apply them in their own classes and gain the same benefits that we do. It's a marvellous form of collaboration that gives us the ability to create an exciting and dynamic learning environment.
"Podcasting really is opening up entirely new avenues of education for both students and teachers!"
