Get Final Cut Studio 2 Updates
Check here for the latest updates to all Final Cut Studio 2 Universal applications: Final Cut Pro 6.0, Cinema Tools 4.0, Color 1.0, Compressor 3.0, DVD Studio Pro 4.2, Motion 3.0, Soundtrack Pro 2.0.
To Download Updates:
- Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Enter your Final Cut Studio serial number then click the “Download” button.
- A page will appear to allow you to download the application updates.
Minimum System Requirements
- A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
- 1GB of RAM
- An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)
- A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher
- Mac OS X v10.4.11 or Mac OS X v10.5.5 or later
- QuickTime 7.5.5 or later
- DVD drive for installation
Application-Specific Requirements
Final Cut Studio
- Capturing HD resolution video using the ProRes 422 format requires a Mac Pro with an Intel Xeon processor and a qualified third-party capture card.
Motion
- A standard or built-to-order system configuration with a NVIDIA GeForce 5200, 6600, 6800, 7300, 7800, 8600, 8800 or Quadro class graphic card.
- A standard or built-to-order system configuration with a ATI Radeon 9600, 9700, 9800, X800, X1600, X1900, or X2600 class graphic card.
- For 16- and 32-bit rendering: a graphics card with at least 128MB of VRAM.
Legacy Application Downloads
Color
- The standard graphics card in any Mac Pro, 17-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac, or 2.5GHZ or faster Power Mac G5 Quad.
- For 32-bit rendering: a graphics card with at least 256MB of VRAM.
- A display with 1680-by-1050 resolution or higher (excluding 20" iMac); dual displays are highly recommended.
- A three-button mouse for full functionality
Soundtrack Pro
- For 5.1 surround monitoring of multichannel audio content: an audio interface with a minimum of six outputs
- For multitrack recording: an audio interface with multiple inputs
DVD Studio Pro
- For playback of DVD Studio Pro 4-authored HD DVDs: a Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G5 or Intel Core Duo processor
- For writing finished projects to disc: an Apple SuperDrive or other DVD recorder
- For writing finished projects to a double-layer disc: a double-layer-compatible recorder and double-layer media
- For transporting HD projects to a replicator: an external drive or Internet transfer of the project’s disk image
- For transporting SD projects that contain copy-protection or dual-layer features to a replicator: a DLT drive, external drive, or Internet transfer of the project’s disk image
