Set Up MobileMe

  1. Get the latest software.

    • If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, set it up before you set up your Mac.
    • Make sure your computer is running the latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6.7 or later). For more information about system requirements, click here.
    • To check for updates, choose Apple menu > Software Update.
    • Follow onscreen instructions if necessary.
  2. Sign in to MobileMe

    • From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    • Select MobileMe.
    • Sign in with your MobileMe member name and password.
  3. Sync your information with
    the MobileMe cloud.

    • Click the Sync tab, select the “Synchronize with MobileMe” checkbox, and then choose Automatically for the fastest updates.
    • Select the Contacts, Calendars, and Bookmarks checkboxes.
    • Click the Sync Now button.
    • Important: To complete set up of iCal syncing, you must follow these instructions.
    • To sync notes between the Mac OS X Mail app and the Notes app on your iOS device, follow these instructions.
    • If you have more than one Mac, select the other items you want to sync across your Mac computers.

Now that you’ve completed the steps above...

In a few minutes, your email, contacts, and calendars on your Mac will be available at me.com and will stay in sync with any other devices you set up.

Finder

You can access your iDisk directly from a Finder window. Use iDisk to store and share files. With 20GB of space, your iDisk can store even large files.

Mail

Your MobileMe Mail account is automatically added to Mac OS X Mail, so you can send and receive email using your me.com email address right away.*

Address Book, iCal, Safari

Your contacts in Address Book, calendars in iCal, and Safari bookmarks always stay in sync across your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and PC.

iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, Aperture

You can publish your photos, movies, and websites online in just one click.

*If your MobileMe email account doesn't appear in Mac OS X Mail, follow the steps in this article.
