How does the Trackpad differ from a mouse? Is it used in conjunction with or as an alternative to a mouse? How do you "click" on it - just tap?

The trackpad itself doesn't move. You move the cursor by sliding your finger over the surface, just like on a touchscreen. It's an alternative to a mouse and is not supposed to be used with one.
You click either by tapping or (it's your choice!) by pressing down on it lightly. You will even feel a satisfying click when you do.

Can I set this mouse so the click can be activated with a tap instead of a click?
