Apple Business & Privacy

Features available in the Apple Business app depend on what has been enabled. If your organisation remotely manages this device using Apple Business, it can process data associated with your Managed Apple Account, including any services you access using this account.

Apple Business allows you to install apps designated by your organisation, view coverage and repair information for managed devices, cancel repair requests, and use features and services enabled by your organisation.

If your organisation uses the device management service as part of Apple Business, the Apple Business app is automatically installed by your organisation. Apple Business uses your Managed Apple Account, which is created by your organisation, to display apps designated by your organisation for you to download and install. Apple Business uses device identifiers to authenticate you and to display information related to Apple Business and any plans you’ve been assigned, such as your managed devices, any AppleCare+ for Business coverage, warranty coverage and repair status. If you visit the Apple Support app or website from Apple Business, device information and your language and region settings will be used by Apple Support to display personalised repair options. You can also cancel repair requests from Apple Business without visiting Apple Support.

If you enrol a personal device into the device management service as part of Apple Business, your organisation will not receive your device serial number. In addition, Apple Business and other apps managed by your organisation will be maintained separately from unmanaged apps on your device. Your organisation can only access data associated with your managed apps, not your unmanaged apps. When your device unenrols from Apple Business, all managed apps including Apple Business and associated data will be deleted from your device. To learn more about how your organisation processes data associated with your managed apps, ask your administrator.

If your organisation enables an email and employee directory in a supported region, Apple will display information that your organisation may have associated with your Managed Apple Account, such as your name, contact information, role and photo, as well as information you choose to provide, including your preferred name and pronouns in the employee directory.

Information processed by Apple on behalf of your organisation in connection with its provision of services requiring a Managed Apple Account under the Apple Business Terms of Service will be treated in accordance with Attachment 2, Section 4 of the Apple Business Terms of Service, which can be found at business.apple.com.
