DO I GET A CODE WHEN I PURCHASE 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD FROM APPLE STORE
NEED TO INSTALL MAC OS ON A BLANK MAC LAPTOP

Snow Leopard only comes on a disk which is mailed to you, there is no "code".
(Note: It is OS 10.7 and OS 10.8 that require a redemption code from the Apple Store to access from the App Store app. The App Store app will be on your Mac once Snow Leopard is updated to OS 10.6.8.)
To install Snow Leopard if your Mac does not have an optical drive, there are instructions on the disk on how to use another Mac (with an optical drive) on the same network to install on your laptop (Remote Installation).
Alternatively, one can use Disk Utility to format a USB flash stick drive (at least 10GB in size), or an external hard drive, as a GUID partition with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) formatting. On another Mac with an optical drive, use Disk Utility to RESTORE the Snow Leopard Install DVD to the newly formatted drive. Connect the new "Snow Leopard Install" drive to your Mac and hold "option" key during start up. Select the Snow Leopard install drive and continue with the install.
Before starting, make sure your laptop is an Intel-based Mac that was not released after mid-2011. Macs that were released after Lion (OS 10.7) was introduced in July 2011 may not allow Snow Leopard to be installed. However, the Mac may be able to run Snow Leopard if Snow Leopard has been "installed" to an external drive (or USB drive) using another Mac and then that drive is connected to the Laptop. You can then RESTORE the working Snow Leopard installation to the internal drive inside the Laptop.

When you purchase Snow Leopard from the Apple Store you will receive a DVD. This will allow you to install Snow Leopard on a blank hard drive, but you may need to partition the drive using Disk Utility first. If so, you can run Disk Utility after booting your Mac from the DVD. Make sure you choose the GUID Partition Table option.
