Apple CCTV Privacy Policy

Updated June 21, 2024

This CCTV Privacy Policy describes how Apple operates security cameras at Apple’s corporate buildings and premises, and provides further information about processing of your personal data that may arise in this context.

Apple’s Use of Security Cameras and Retention of Footage

Security cameras are used for purposes of video monitoring and for Apple’s legitimate interests of safety of customers, visitors, employees and other individuals; for security; and for fraud and loss prevention. The footage is recorded and may be viewed in the event of an incident only by staff in order to investigate the incident and on a need-to-know basis, in relation to requests from relevant authorities (for example, local police) or otherwise as required by law if and where applicable.

The images will be stored for no longer than the maximum legal period applicable in each jurisdiction, or as otherwise agreed with local representatives where applicable. This period will be 30 days or shorter, unless specific images are required for an investigation related to the purposes outlined above, in which case they will be held until that purpose expires.

Your Privacy Rights at Apple

At Apple, we respect your ability to know when your personal data is processed, to access or delete data related to you, and to object to or restrict the processing of your personal data. To exercise your rights, you can make requests at apple.com/uk/privacy/contact.

There may be situations where we cannot grant your request — for example, if you ask us to delete your personal data and the footage is still necessary and there are overriding legitimate grounds of safety or security. Other reasons your privacy request may be denied are if it jeopardizes the privacy of others, is frivolous or vexatious, or would be extremely impractical.

Privacy Questions

If you have questions about Apple’s CCTV Privacy Policy, controllership, or privacy practices, would like to contact our Data Protection Officer, or would like to submit a complaint, you can contact us at apple.com/uk/privacy/contact. You can also ask us questions about how to submit a privacy complaint and we will endeavor to help.
