Does not work with Lexar 256GB SDXC cards

This reader won’t read either of my Lexar 256GB SDXC cards. Those same cards work fine in five other card readers. The reader sticks out far too much from the machine, a problem in cramped quarters. The card is difficult to remove due to the lip on the reader; it makes one pinch to get the card out, which is hard when working in cold conditions (stiff fingers).

      DON'T BUY - bad design

Bad design - once you put the SD card in deep, it is difficult to take it out as the bottom lip actually jutts out diagonally (can't see in the photos here) pre Bad design - once you put the SD card in deep, it is difficult to take it out as the bottom lip actually jutts out diagonally (can't see in the photos here) prevents your fingers from grabbing the SD card securely to pull it out. The connection to the USB-C port is not totally secure. Anyway, not going to waste more time writing about this. TOTALLY RUBBISH DESIGN!!! Wasted my time ordering and waiting for this while I could have just bought a USB-C SD card reader from Ebay for just £6!!

It works with all my SanDisk SD cards as it should. However the 45 degree angle they put on this at the slot entrance ruins it. You place your SD card into the reader and it goes 3/4 of the way in leaving just about a 1/4 inch sticking out, you are unable to remove the card once it is in since it is so difficult and the angle of the card reader doesn't allow you to get a finger under the card to remove it. I will be looking for an updated version or another brand to purchase once more readers are available for the USB-C interface.

      Complete Garbage

Constantly un-mounts. If you crave frustration, this is the reader for you. I finally ended up throwing it into the bushes of my backyard.

4 days of bliss turned to garbage

Im a videographer and I just got my new Macbook and I was in need to download a bunch a cards from a camp I was just filming so I went to apple and a salesman a Im a videographer and I just got my new Macbook and I was in need to download a bunch a cards from a camp I was just filming so I went to apple and a salesman asks me if I needed help so I asked him for a usb c to sd card reader and he had no clue what I was talking about so he referred me to another individual who also was confused, the third knew what it was and told me this was the best reader out Bla Bla Bla etc... so I took it home plugged it in and for the last 4 days it worked flawlessly and then suddenly today I was downloading some 4k files and the thing ejects and after putting it in and out of the port a few times it won't reconnect. It literally hasn't been used for even 5 days and it already died, so do not buy this if you want a some what reliable card reader! Not worth your time...
