  • Overview

Unlike traditional, circular earbuds, the design of the EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other earbud-style headphones.

The speakers inside the EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.

The EarPods also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.

Needless to say I had to do three loads of washing one after the other as I had gotten tired of wearing a towel around the flat. Bet you know where this is going, huh? Chucked my jeans in at the last minute because I couldn't for the life of me remember when I'd washed them last and putting them in the freezer no longer helped. Well yeah just so turns out my earphones were in the pocket of said jeans. I opened the washer door and they flopped out limp and lifeless - but very clean I have to admit (kudos to washing machine) Anyway I put them on the radiator with no hope they were salvable but I wanted to make an effort you know? They've served me well. Well put them in my iPhone 6 this morning out of curiosity- half expecting the electric shock of my life - and guess what, WORKED PERFECTLY. CLEAN AS A WHISTLE AND WORKS LIKE A CHARM. Although I don't advise this way of cleaning your earphones it's nice to know Apple don't skimp on the quality.

      Beware of volume blast glitch

When I used them with my iPhone 6S, they caused the volume to go up rapidly and out of the blue to full blast (note: it overrode my max volume control) and I was unable to bring the volume back down. I'm an average tech user and know how to ask for help, but I couldn't locate a fix for this. Keep your receipt just in case and do not give these to kids.

Come on Apple, is this the best you can offer?

At first I was impressed, they came in a nice looking case, and I liked the built-in volume control and mic. They seemed like they would be better than the old apple earbuds I had from my iPod shuffle (Why did you have to discontinue those?). I tried them on, and the sound quality was very good, however, they are very uncomfortable. Sure, they feel fine at first, but I have to use them a lot and after a while they hurt. Why do you continue to use plastic for them??? No one likes it, as can be clearly seen on the consistently bad reviews you've had on all your headphones. Why can't you do what the rest of the world does, and use silicone? Yes, you sell a pair with the silicone tips, but seriously, $79???? I can buy a perfectly decent set for $10 - $20. For the price of the iPhone, you should be able to afford to give a better pair of headphones in the box. Your computers and phones are great, but you have some serious work to do on your headphones if you want happier customers and better reviews.
