Apple Fitness+ is a fitness service available only with Apple. You can choose from a catalogue of video and audio workouts and meditations led by expert trainers who also help curate music playlists for even more motivation.
All you need is iPhone 8 or later to subscribe to Apple Fitness+. You can also subscribe with an Apple Watch Series 3 or later paired with iPhone 6s or later. To get the newest features, make sure your devices are running the latest software version.
With iPhone, you can have a great Fitness+ experience with onscreen coaching, timers and trainer call-outs while also tracking your estimated Move ring progress. With Apple Watch, you also get real‑time personalised metrics on screen, like your heart rate and the calories you burn, in every workout. And you can track the progress of all three Activity rings on screen and see celebrations when you close them.
You can find Apple Fitness+ in the centre tab of the Fitness app on iPhone. For Apple Watch, you can find Fitness+ Audio Workouts in the Workout app, and Fitness+ Audio Meditations in the Mindfulness app. For iPad, the Fitness app is available for iPhone or Apple Watch users to download from the App Store. The Fitness app is also available on Apple TV.
Yes. Fitness+ is created for everyone, from beginners to advanced, with modifications to turn the level of intensity up or down in every workout. You choose the type of workout, the time and the trainer — it’s totally up to you. There’s also a Program called Workouts for Beginners for anyone who wants to learn the basics.

It depends on the workout you choose. While most don’t require any equipment, for some you may need things like dumbbells, a yoga mat, an indoor cycling bike, a rowing machine or a treadmill. Other helpful equipment might include iPhone stands, yoga blocks, resistance bands, or a meditation cushion or mat. You can use any brand of equipment at home or in the gym.

With watchOS 7.3 or later and iOS 14.5 or later, Fitness+ users can stream audio and video from Fitness+ workouts to Airplay-enabled TVs and devices. With watchOS 9 and iOS 16, the ability to see metrics like timers, trainer callouts, heart rate, Activity ring celebrations and Burn Bar position, was made available for compatible Airplay-enabled TVs and devices.
As with all of Apple’s products and services, we have designed Apple Fitness+ with privacy in mind and to give you control over your information. All your Fitness+ workout recommendations are powered using on-device intelligence. And when using Apple Fitness+, your calories and the workouts and trainers you choose will not be stored along with your Apple ID.
