  • Overview

Thunderbolt technology supports fast data transfers with two independent channels of 10 Gbps each. And Thunderbolt 2 technology can bond the two channels for a super-fast 20 Gbps. Use this cable to connect Thunderbolt-enabled devices to the Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port on your Mac.

The Apple Thunderbolt Cable lets you connect a Thunderbolt-equipped system to a Thunderbolt device. Connect a Thunderbolt-equipped Mac in target disk mode to another Mac for fast data access or system migration, or network two Thunderbolt-equipped computers.

      Unreliable

I am using this to connect my MBA to a thunderbolt dock. it is not moved around. it goes in gentle sweeps, it is under no physical or thermal stress. and eve I am using this to connect my MBA to a thunderbolt dock. it is not moved around. it goes in gentle sweeps, it is under no physical or thermal stress. and every month or so the MBA locks up requiring a PRAM reset and cable switching - what else would I like reliability from a premium priced cable!

Connect two iMacs ...dual screen/target disc mode

Place two 21.5 " iMacs side by side...screens touching. The Thunderbolt ports are 53cm apart...so, no chance of using the neater, 50cm option.Sneaky huh. I use the cable to configure the old iMac as mainly a second monitor to expand my desktop or at keystroke access the HD as extra storage. Pity the USB ports on the second imac only supply power for charging, would be nice to have them fully functional.

      No problems (PC)

A little hesitant about purchasing both cable and adapter after seeing the negative reviews. Not sure what’s going on, maybe Apple users aren’t that tech savvy. A little hesitant about purchasing both cable and adapter after seeing the negative reviews. Not sure what’s going on, maybe Apple users aren’t that tech savvy. I’m connecting my Apollo Twin MKII to my PC through an ASUS thunderbolt pcie card. There is a few glitches with audio through different applications however, while in a DAW there is no problems. Don’t let the ridiculous 1 star reviews scare you. If it works on a Microsoft computer there should be no problems on a Mac. The only thing bad is the price. Hence the 4 star rating.

      Made from poor materials

The rubber on these cables will over time with normal use, degrade, twist and break. They have used poor quality rubber to shield the cables. I wouldn't recomm The rubber on these cables will over time with normal use, degrade, twist and break. They have used poor quality rubber to shield the cables. I wouldn't recommend this product to anybody. It's such incredibly poor quality for the amount of money they charge.
