Let's set aside the looks - they're fantastic. And the anodysed look closely matches my monitors and mac pro case - good job apple! The response takes a very slight getting used to, but once you have it's far easier to type from and completely comfortable during long sessions. This keyboard might still not be a replacement for everyone though: the additional shortkeys at the top may be great for the casual user, but if like me you're a pro apps user, beware that such keys as the volume controls have been stuck onto the F keys. F keys that you may use constantly in Final Cut Pro. You can turn the volume controls off when you use such apps, but personally I find it a little tricky to juggle between the two. Just a word of warning if you are a heavy apps user, otherwise a very solid product that combines great looks with impressive functionality. AB

USB ports really aren't full function

"And two USB 2.0 ports provide high-speed connectivity for your iPod, Mighty Mouse, digital camera, and other USB-based electronic devices." The above senten "And two USB 2.0 ports provide high-speed connectivity for your iPod, Mighty Mouse, digital camera, and other USB-based electronic devices." The above sentence is directly from Apple's advertising material for the new keyboard. Oh, how I wish it were true. I was facing the purchase of a USB hub because I was tired of turning my iMac, unplugging one item, plugging in another. I thought this keyboard would be a great solution. But even my Nano iPod kicks up a low power warning. The keyboard is great aside from the USB function. Great feel, easy access function keys, etc.

      Best keyboard I've used

I can't give it 5 stars because it's not completely flat. That would be ideal. But realistically, you need to put the circuitry somewhere, so I understand why I can't give it 5 stars because it's not completely flat. That would be ideal. But realistically, you need to put the circuitry somewhere, so I understand why there's a small angle to this thing. It's worth the money. My wrists rest on my desk as I type. Keys feel good. Typing is easy on this thing. I'm positive that I'm reducing hand strain. And it's small & minimalist, leaving out any stupidity and preserving everything you need. Takes up a minimum space on my desk. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Selling low quality product with very high price

OK Apple. This is just an another wired keyboard. You don't have to charge that much because your keyboard doesn't last long. Now, some of my keys are not worki OK Apple. This is just an another wired keyboard. You don't have to charge that much because your keyboard doesn't last long. Now, some of my keys are not working anymore. It should last much more longer with this much price. Really disappointed. I am going to buy cheaper classic PC keyboard.

This Keyboard > More Expense Magic Keyboard

I love that the keys are springy and raised up higher than the magic keyboard. It makes it so much easier and faster to type, especially if you have long nails like myself. I struggled to type on the magic keyboard but it is truly a breeze and pleasure on this keyboard. The keyboard is also physically raised up higher versus the magic keyboard, in my opinion making it much easier on your wrists and more effective for quick typing, which is what a keyboard's function is. This keyboard is sturdy and reliable, unlike the magic keyboard that loved to disconnect at times or act strange where I would have to disconnect the bluetooth and reconnect it again. The only con would be if you have a small work space, the keyboard is pretty long, and competes for space with my mouse and trackpad. ALL IN ALL, I love this keyboard, I never thought I'd genuinely enjoy a keyboard until I got my hands on this one. Highly recommend it.

Good Keyboard Until It Stops Working

I've had my Apple USB Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for 17 months. It worked great until yesterday when, inexplicably, the 'esc, tilde, tab, and caps lock' keys I've had my Apple USB Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for 17 months. It worked great until yesterday when, inexplicably, the 'esc, tilde, tab, and caps lock' keys simultaneously stopped working. My wife has the same keyboard, which I plugged into my MacBook Pro to confirm that my computer was not the source of the problem . . . it wasn't. I tried all of the other tests suggested by online techies to no avail. So, now it appears that I have to go out and buy a new keyboard. I thought Apple products were engineered to last more than 17 months . . . not so, I guess.
