I connect my current MacBook pro to my monitor with one cable. The USB-C connection handles both power and data to the monitor. Does the new USB-C to MagSafe connection handle just power? Or does it handle both power and data? Basically, I'm asking, will I be able to use just my USB-C to MagSafe cable between my monitor and MacBook Air? Or will I also need to use one of my USB-C ports too?...
Hello all, I don’t want to use the MagSafe charger cable as I can’t charge any other devices with it. What usb c cable do I need to charge the MacBook? what usb c to usb c will charge the fastest. I can see apple sell a £19 cable or there are thunderbolts 3, 4...
I've got an old MacBook Pro with a MagSafe 1 port. Unfortunately, the MagSafe 1 charger that I have doesn't seem to be working to charge the laptop anymore. I don't know of any way to charge this now because this was way before USB-C existed. How can I charge this old laptop? I can't seem to find any proper old MagSafe 1 charger online....
My iPhone 12 mini (purchased March 2021) suddenly won't mag-charge all the way. I'm using the Apple MagSafe Charger with the 20W USB-C Power Adapter. It charges fine for about 1 minute 30 seconds, then just stops. It is not in a case. But it also stops when in an Apple case. I have several Apple mag chargers , in several rooms and at work, that have been working fine for various lengths of times up to a year ( one is less than one month old), and it stops on all of them. It charges fine...
I own a 2021 MBP 14" which didn't come with Apple's 'fast' power adapter (96W). If I attach a fast charger from a reputable brand which supports Power Delivery via the USB-C port to the MagSafe 3 cable, will MagSafe still fast charge my laptop? I fear the answer is no, presumably the charging protocol behind MagSafe is proprietary to Apple.. If so, what type of charging is possible using non-Apple chargers in conjunction with a MagSafe cable? I am aware I can still fast charge using the USB-C ...
Hi, I have these USB-C PD Chargers : 87W A1719, 61W A1947, 30W A1882, HP 65W TPN-AA03, a small LG travel adapter (5V 3A) these USB-C devices: macbook pro 13' A2251, iPad mini MK7T3LL/A, Pixel 2 Roughly one month ago, usb-c ports of mbp 13' on the left side randomly stops working (for both charging and data), but right side works ok. Today, after 12PM, it stops charging from any chargers During switching between different chargers and devices, here's what I found: 87W A1719 (with other usbc - usbc ...
I have an iPhone 12 that will only charge using a usb-c connection. The regular usb chargers used to work, but one day after my phone had updated, stopped working all together. This also means I cannot plug my phone into my computer to back up to iTunes without buying an adapter. I’ve tried cleaning the charging port, using a variety of other charging cables as well as different boxes they plug into. I’ve taken it to Verizon where I was told that it is in fact odd, but that they couldn’t help...
I have to use one that HDMI to HDMI and one thats USBC to HDMI The HDMI to HDMI one doesn't show up I've opened the system preferences and the one that is USBC to HDMI shows up correctly as and LG HDR 4k but not the other same brand and model that's HDMI to HDMI Option (detect displays) does nothing I see this issue going back two years on mac minis...
Have purchased an Apple multi port USB-C adapter. In fact 2 of them @ $99 each from Apple. I have been trying to use them on an iPad 11 pro (2018) and an iPad Pro 2021 12.9” (2021) with no charging. I have written to Apple support a couple of times with no response as to why I can’t get the charger port to work. I was under the impression that it had a charger port that I could use whilst using the HDMI port. It doesn’t work at all! Is there a fix for this? Or have I blown my money...
I have original apple charger for iPhone 6s which am using for charging my iPhone 13 pro. It is taking more than 3 hours to charge. Is there an issue charging with old charger . Also how much time it takes to charge with a new one ....
Hello all, I am having issues with my new Mac Pro 16 inch. It three USB C \ Thunderbolt ports but when I attempt to connect more than one it will not power the second device. This what I have connected. The two on the left I have USB C connection that goes to my 2 -way KVM switch with a HP Dock unit to feed two monitors. The second UBC- C \ Thunderbolt port feeds my OWC Thunderbolt 4 to 10Gib converter. I also have a NVMe external TB 4 enclosure with a 1TB NVMe drive inside. When I connect...
I'm recently (as of June 17, 2022) seeing an issue in the last couple weeks on my M1 MacBook Pro 16. Charging just stops working and requires a full shutdown and restart to fix. Not sure if it correlates with Monterey version... currently running 12.4, fyi. Charging by either USB-C or MagSafe makes no difference, same issue. I've also swapped out USB-C charging cables (Apple original and 3rd party) to no avail as well as cleaning contacts, checking cables, etc. And also NOT near 80% charge...
I recently bought an Apple iPad Pro 10.5" second generation second hand and it doesn't come with a charger . I already have a USB-C to lightning charging cable with me but I still need a charging cube for it. I was just wondering what the wattage of one should be for the cube for the iPad I bought because I honestly have no idea. I barely know anything about iPads (especially the Pro models). I would really appreciate somebody telling me what the wattage amount should be for one or giving...
After a while my iPad pro 12 " started having trouble charging. I thought it was a connector problem since some cords seemed to not charge and others did. But after a while the only cords that worked were connected to higher power / higher wattage chargers /adapters. I recently got a 60w power adapter and I've found that the cords I'd previously had no luck with are charging it just fine. Is there some kind of USB-C port degradation that makes the port unable to transmit lower power...
