Would've been the ideal gimbal if only.....

I am very sad to return my recently purchased Osmo Mobile. I must have watched almost all the youtube videos and read all the reviews on the Osmo Mobile that I am very sad to return my recently purchased Osmo Mobile. I must have watched almost all the youtube videos and read all the reviews on the Osmo Mobile that I thought I learned everything I could about this gimbal before finally making my purchase. Every positive thing you will learn from the widely available in depth reviews are generally true, from the high quality packaging to the polished fit and finish of the hardware to the frequently updated DJI Go App. I just acquired an iPhone 7 Plus and for the past nine years, I have NEVER used my phone naked/caseless. Currently, I am using the Apple silicone case, of which I don’t consider to add a whole lot of weight or bulk to the 7 Plus. The 7 Plus and the case just barely fits into the phone holder, and just barely self-balances (if you hold your breath while balancing). Unfortunately, there is no option to add more counter balance weight like their competitors (or even slide the phone out more to counter balance) and the motor is not strong enough to accommodate the slight increase of the feather weight Apple silicone case even when I managed to balance the phone with the case on. If only the engineers at DJI would have been more thoughtful of the details of their design, taking into consideration that many people do use a case with their iPhone 6/7 Plus that carries the price tag of a laptop and being subjected to an “action” environment. If only the engineers just made the motors a touch stronger to accommodate the extra “millimeters” of weight (or allow the phone to slide out more to counter balance), then this gimbal would have been perfect for me. If you don’t use a case or don’t mind removing your case from your iPhone 6/7 Plus every time you use the Osmo Mobile, then you should definitely look into giving the Osmo Mobile a serious consideration. Side notes: The included pouch is a nice bonus, but provides as much protection as a cloth grocery bag.

Osmo Mobile not compatible with iPhone 7+

I bought the DJI Osmo Mobile from DJ I am a very big fan of the iPhone 7+ --- my tenth iPhone --- and of DJI. I own a Phantom Drone and am very happy with it. I bought the DJI Osmo Mobile from DJI after much research !! I was not told about the compatibility issue by DJI or Apple for use of the system ? --- It seems the iPhone 7+ has a stability system built into the camera that can not be turned off by the phone user. The Osmo Mobile also has it's own stability system when using the iPhone 7+. They DO NOT WORK WELL TOGETHER. There is what has been termed a"bobbing" effect that is VERY POOR for the end video product. I bought this Osmo Mobile to shoot High Quality 4K video, on my iPhone 7+, while moving with the Osmo Mobile hand held system. This "bobbing" makes the video jittery and very unprofessional ???? I am returning the Osmo Mobile, as it does not work with the iPhone 7+ currently ----- I hope the issue is solved soon ??? I love the quality of the DJI products.

      Once you figure it out....

It took me a good bit of the day to figure out the terrible, terrible instructions that came with the gimbal. The enclosed instructions may as well be thrown into the trash for all the good that they do. I ended up downloading the instruction manual online. It is certainly more comprehensive, but, once again, just about as confusing. The problem is that the instructions do not flow in a sequential manner. You get started reading, and then they switch to a different application. Remember, after charging the battery, you must install the app on the phone and log in from the app. Otherwise the gimbal won't turn on. Once working it does a good job with some interesting features, but there no excuse for such poor support manuals. The YOUTUBE videos are just OK....more like advertisements for gimbal features.

Unusable with iPhone 7 (whatever they say)

I heard about the Osmo Mobile... A couple of days ago was in an Apple store in Laval. I asked a guy if they had it. He was really enthusiast about it. Super I heard about the Osmo Mobile... A couple of days ago was in an Apple store in Laval. I asked a guy if they had it. He was really enthusiast about it. Super excited, I made the 400$ purchase right away! :) Didn't take long to realize it was not a perfect match... Searched on You Tube, DJI site and i found this tread. After watching tons of videos and critics, i have no choice but to bring it back for refund. There is a conflict between the iPhone and the Osmo. they are fighting each other's stabilizers (or whatever)... The Apple guy should have known about this issue. C'est pas fort, i am really disappointed.

not bad but workflow is awful

so, iPhone 7plus not a good idea. great phone great camera but not with osmo. first you must remove any case you have. other issues work flow? did I mention tha so, iPhone 7plus not a good idea. great phone great camera but not with osmo. first you must remove any case you have. other issues work flow? did I mention that yet? DJI app holds the original files. so if you want to edit or work with them you MUST download them to your photo roll. ok so now you have 10gigs in the dji app and now another 10gigs in your camera roll. (hope you have lots of storage) then well how do you get them to your PC or MAC. transfer them over. ok well not an easy smooth task and for me my program. (lumafusion) is on my ipad so guess what I need to do now? move it from the PC to a micro card them buy the micro card reader to lighting cord to hook it up to my ipad then transfer them over. no joke took me first a day to figure it out. then over 4-5 hours to move it all over and finally get it onto my ipad. use Icloud you say? have you tried to move 10gigs of icloud video over? well sitting in my icloud were all 69 vdeos 10gigs total, and in 6 hours only 13 of them were showing up. if you want stability and something cool to work with - especially the M-TIMELAPSE then ok maybe worth it, - wait to use that you need the stand that is about 20-30 more to hold it in place.and then if you only want it on your iPhone again great buy it. otherwise stay away. p.s. I am a DJI fan boy - own or owned MAVIC PRO , INSPIRE 1 - F550 - F450 - OSMO ORIGINAL AND OSMO MOBILE take my review what it is worth.
