  • Overview

The 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Pro stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

Compatible with MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display.

rubber on the cord rips open

I've had this macbook charger for almost 2.5 years and the rubber on the cord started ripping open in just one year. It's truly disappointing as my old magsafe I've had this macbook charger for almost 2.5 years and the rubber on the cord started ripping open in just one year. It's truly disappointing as my old magsafe charger from 2010 is still functional and hasn't ripped open. The quality of the charger declined so far where your older models are outliving the newer ones by almost 5 years is completely outrageous. I've taped up the opening with electrical tape since it's expensive to replace. Obviously these things are made to fall apart so people will have to keep buying it over and over. It's these little petty things that keeps me from wanting to support apple products other than the macbook pro.

Wish I could rate it 0 stars..

My MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina Display (Late 2013) came with this Magsafe 2 power adaptor. Not long after use, it started yellowing, which was no big deal. My MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina Display (Late 2013) came with this Magsafe 2 power adaptor. Not long after use, it started yellowing, which was no big deal. Then it started fraying at the end that connects to my MacBook, as well as throughout the cable. It is extremely unreliable, and I have to keep checking to see if it is still charging! If a replacement power adaptor cost around $30-$50, it would not be as big of a deal. But, $80! What the heck, Apple! I spend $2000 on a laptop, and then $80 for each power adaptor??

      On 3rd Charger

I am a die-hard Apple junkie, but this charger is terrible. I'm on my third year of ownership of my MacBook Pro with Retina and also on my third charger. Breaks Easily too soon

I'm pretty devoted to everything Apple. Except the cords on any type of charging cable of a power adapter. After so many years of progress on the tech of Apple, I'm pretty devoted to everything Apple. Except the cords on any type of charging cable of a power adapter. After so many years of progress on the tech of Apple, the only thing I'm still waiting for to get better are the cords which break and split up and yellow after just a year or half of a year of use. They are very inconvenient. It's about time to fix this problem and create a material that does not break so easily because of such often use. It's very frustrating to have to replace these so often and at such a high cost. Such an expensive power adapter with such a breakable cord. The phones get better and so do the MacBooks but the power cords are still the same and are no good.

      MagSafe Needs a Redesign

I cannot find harsh enough words for MagSafe products.. I've owned several Macbooks since the mid 2000's, and EVERY Magsafe adapter I've owned has failed.. Rega I cannot find harsh enough words for MagSafe products.. I've owned several Macbooks since the mid 2000's, and EVERY Magsafe adapter I've owned has failed.. Regardless of how well I take care of them, it's the same failure EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I must have been through 4-5 Magsafe adapters, and it's frankly unacceptable that their failure rate for these chargers is so high! Apple, you need to address the elephant in the room and either a) redesign this awful product, or b) extend repair and exchange programs for them. I cannot believe I have to shell out ~$100 every single time the wires on these things fray -which they inevitably will.

      Awful

After a while the plastic falls off the cable, leaving bare electrical wires. Then you have to buy a new cable for £79, or risk electrocution!! Absolute joke, n After a while the plastic falls off the cable, leaving bare electrical wires. Then you have to buy a new cable for £79, or risk electrocution!! Absolute joke, not fit for purpose.
