I have never had an apple product with this terrible of quality. For $50 should definitely last longer especially not used much and always put up when not in use. Would not recommend wasting your money.

Poor Video Quality and No Audio Out of Headphone Jack

The result is the vid Instead of outputting native HDMI, this little device seems to take the output from the phone, compress it, and pass along an HDMI signal. The result is the video quality is far below good HD quality. Expect all kinds of artifacts and other issues including lower than expected HD resolution. This is not a device that can replace a good streaming alternative, which is too bad considering Apple's devices are more than powerful enough for that purpose. For those of us hoping to use our phones or iPads to connect in business settings to display content, be aware that audio is only transmitted through the lightening port when this is plugged in, which gives no audio out through the headphone jack. That means that if you are plugging this into a projector's HDMI input, you are likely going to lose any sound that goes along with your presentation (or anything else) as most quality projectors do not have speakers. This is a big oversight in my opinion as lots of devices keep the analog audio out of a headphone jack or the like live while also transmitting sound over HDMI. Similarly, sound is not also sent via bluetooth when this is plugged in, so that's not an alternative either. I have both the bluetooth and headphone jack options open on my laptop, which has an HDMI out. So much for replacing a good old laptop.

      It just works‼️ 😁

I purchased this cable a few months ago to watch movies that I had purchased from the iTunes Store. I was concerned about the quality based on the sheer number I purchased this cable a few months ago to watch movies that I had purchased from the iTunes Store. I was concerned about the quality based on the sheer number of negative reviews, however I can report that this cable works perfectly. I plan on purchasing ALLOT more movies from the iTunes Store real soon. Recommended: Yes 😁👍🏼

Digital AV adaptor works on iPhone7Plus

I am use it to te I have been using the Lightning Digital AV adapter with my iPhone7Plus connected to an NEC N770 digital projector, and my adaptor works great. I am use it to teach classes on how to use their smartphone settings, and both the video and audio have worked fine. When I first plugged it in, I had no signal. To see a video signal, I had to enter my password on my iPhone 7Plus. Once I did that, the home screen came up. I use my iPhone to demo the Snapseed photo app and FilmicPro video app - works fine, with no interruptions. To others treading this who are having issues, if you’re feeding a monitor or TV via HDMI cable, make sure you have the monitor setup for the right type of signal, that is 1080p HD format. Feeding into a 4k TV will produce a smaller image, unless you have the television set to auto fit, or auto scale (check your tv menu settings- under advanced). For others having interruption of videos, or their stopping all together, you may have a wifi issue in your home. I upgraded my wifi to 5 gigbyte transmission, and changed the frequency, and that solved the issue of not being able to stream smoothly onto my home monitor. I have been using my adapter for one month. I am using IOS 12.1 and have not upgraded to the latest. Having read the horror stories above, I will wait until after I have finished my lectures in April before upgrading!
