What happens if I’ve already replaced the iPhone I first enrolled in the iPhone Upgrade Programme?

If you’ve previously replaced your iPhone, please visit checkcoverage.apple.com to see whether your replacement iPhone is covered by AppleCare+. If it’s not, contact Apple Support on 0800 048 0408. They can help you transfer the coverage to your current iPhone before picking up your new device at an Apple Store.

I am currently in the iPhone Upgrade Programme and still want to upgrade every year. What options do I have?

I’ve just bought a new iPhone through the iPhone Upgrade Programme. Can I transfer to the Flexible Finance Account?

If you purchased your iPhone via the iPhone Upgrade Programme within the last 14 days, you can return it by visiting an Apple Store. One of our Specialists can help find the best option for you.

I’m an existing iPhone Upgrade Programme customer. Can I pay off my loan early?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can pay off the balance of your loan at any time with no additional fees by contacting Barclays. By paying off your loan in full, you will no longer be eligible to upgrade via the iPhone Upgrade Programme, but a number of other options are available. I’m in the iPhone Upgrade Programme — do I still need to make payments for my current iPhone while I wait for my new iPhone to be ready for pickup?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you upgrade to your new iPhone at an Apple Store, we’ll close the iPhone Upgrade Programme loan associated with your current iPhone and the payments for your new iPhone will begin.

I’m in the iPhone Upgrade Programme — can I upgrade even if I haven’t made my 11 monthly payments yet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you haven’t made 11 payments, you will receive the market trade-in value. Please note in some cases this may not be sufficient to pay off the remaining balance of your Barclays iPhone Upgrade Programme loan. In this case, you will be responsible for continuing to make payments in line with your agreed payment plan. If you wish to make an early upgrade payment in order to make the equivalent of a total of 11 payments and benefit from your upgrade option, you must upgrade at an Apple Store location.

Is there another credit check when I upgrade my iPhone?

If I’ve paid off my loan, am I still part of the iPhone Upgrade Programme?

After 20 payments, your iPhone Upgrade Programme contract is complete.

I’m an existing iPhone Upgrade Programme customer, but apple.com shows I am not eligible to upgrade. What should I do if I think I am eligible?

Do I need to contact Barclays to close my iPhone Upgrade Programme loan before visiting the store?

Accepted Answer

No. We’ll close the loan for you when you upgrade through the iPhone Upgrade Programme. If you haven’t made 11 monthly payments, we can take the early upgrade payment in-store when you pick up your new iPhone.

What do I do if my iPhone Upgrade Programme iPhone is damaged?

Accepted Answer

Your iPhone should be in good working condition at the time of upgrade. If your iPhone has screen damage, please visit an Apple Store and we’ll do our best to help you. If your iPhone has any other damage, visit getsupport.apple.com to book an appointment to get it repaired before you upgrade.

Question 16

I’m an existing iPhone Upgrade Programme customer. If I trade in my phone and it’s valued at more than the remaining balance on my device, what happens to the surplus trade-in value?

Accepted Answer

When you upgrade and trade in your existing device, you are able to either apply the full trade-in value towards lowering the cost of your new purchase, or apply it back to pay off your existing Barclays iPhone Upgrade Programme loan. If you upgrade online, any surplus trade-in value would be added to an Apple Gift Card which is supplied to you. If you upgrade in-store, any surplus trade-in value can be applied directly towards lowering the cost of your new purchase.

As the iPhone Upgrade Programme has now ended, what will happen to my remaining payments?

Accepted Answer

Any loans as part of iPhone Upgrade Programme will remain active. You should continue to pay in line with your agreed payment schedule. If you wish to pay off the remaining balance of your Barclays loan, you can contact Barclays.

I have made 11 or more payments in my iPhone Upgrade Programme. Am I still eligible to upgrade even though the programme has ended?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you are an existing iPhone Upgrade Programme customer and have made the equivalent of 11 or more payments and your iPhone Upgrade Programme device is in a good physical and operational condition, we will guarantee when you upgrade that the trade‑in value will be enough to pay off your existing iPhone Upgrade Programme loan. If you upgraded online, any surplus trade‑in value would be added to an Apple Gift Card which would be supplied to you. If you upgrade in‑store, any surplus trade‑in value can be applied directly towards lowering the cost of your new iPhone.
