  • Overview

Since the cable to flexible, I can hang a flash drive off the end and not worry about it disconnecting or falling out. Too bad you lose the only USB port on the computer, but I knew of this limitation when I bought the computer. Works great.

      Does what it says

Bought this adapter in order to use the Apple USB SuperDrive to load up some software I had on CD-ROM. Works a treat. Also allows me to charge and connect my iPhone 6 using the phones supplied USB to Lightning charging cable. For £15 it's rather expensive and to be honest should be bundled with the new MacBook given the move to USB-C. With hindsight I wish I'd splashed out on the more expensive USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter because that allows you to charge, connect a USB device and hook up to HDMI TV all at once in one single adapter but the £65 price is rather prohibitive given it's not an essential purchase...Again I wish Apple would offer discounted cables at time of purchase when bought at the same time as a MacBook - I'm sure this would incentivise people to purchase more connectors and increase Apples bottom line ;-)

Simple, expensive, functional. USB 2.0 only

Cable has firm connectors and is quite flexible, bending near the middle instead of near the ports with a flash drive dangling. Works well for the usual premium Cable has firm connectors and is quite flexible, bending near the middle instead of near the ports with a flash drive dangling. Works well for the usual premium, if you are willing and able to drop 2000AUD+ on a MacBook without comprehending its port limitations I feel sorry for you. That being said, the female port is USB 2.0 only. If you need to connect a USB 3.0+ device, this is not the product you are looking for.

The Apple hub cable with the HDMI and power connections seems to work fine however. Very frustrating.
