      Batteries stinks!!!

      I bought my MacBook Pro 3 months ago and everything was fine until a few weeks when my computer started to shut down without any advertisement. Right now I can I bought my MacBook Pro 3 months ago and everything was fine until a few weeks when my computer started to shut down without any advertisement. Right now I can not work on my mac if it is not connected to electricity power. I thik that Apple should be aware of the problem and replace all this kind of batteries.

      Failing battery also

      Poor quality.

      I bought a MacBook pro six months ago in July 2006, the battery life decreased to about 1.5 hours life after a full charge after 70 cycles (Apple's support sit I bought a MacBook pro six months ago in July 2006, the battery life decreased to about 1.5 hours life after a full charge after 70 cycles (Apple's support site claims that the batterys are designed to retain 80% of their original charge after 300 cycles). The MacBook also started to shut-off power completely without warning (loosing any unsaved work). After 85 "cycles" the battery started getting extremely hot, warped, and now does not hold any charge at all.

      Can't say I wasn't warned

      A little over a year ago I needed a new battery and had a bit of a dilemma. I had read the reviews here and decided to look around at third party options, howev A little over a year ago I needed a new battery and had a bit of a dilemma. I had read the reviews here and decided to look around at third party options, however the reviews for those seemed to be just as bad and I figured at least if I bought the genuine article I would have some decent recourse. Well just after the warranty expired the battery conked out completely after only 63 cycles. This time I have gone for a third party battery for half the price and a 50% longer warranty.

      horrible product

      I bought a new replacement battery for my MBP in late October 2013. It is now early December 2014 and the battery is totally gone! £110 down the pan... I wish I I bought a new replacement battery for my MBP in late October 2013. It is now early December 2014 and the battery is totally gone! £110 down the pan... I wish I could say that this wasn't the case but this is the THIRD replacement battery for my MBP.

      Possibly the worst spend of money ever?

      Given Apple's usual attention to detail these batteries are possibly the greatest oversight in their product range. They are useless. I'm on my second (both bought in store), and the latest one won't charge at all (sat at 0%) after just under 2 years. At least the first two (the original and first replacement) made 3 years a piece, but they seem to be getting worse. A friend bought a copy battery off of one of the large 'auction' sites (which I berated him for!) and his has outlasted mine which about sums up the ownership experience, whose laughing now?!. Given my latest gen MBP 13" battery is asonishingly good I just don't get what the score is with these units, but they should by now be about £50 each rather than >£100 each given the woeful lifetime and performance vs. newer kit. Shame on you Apple, an absolutely terrible product, I won't buy another out of principle, so it's AC cord from now on.

      To calibrate the battery: Plug in the MagSafe power adapter and fully charge the MacBook or MacBo To calibrate the battery: Plug in the MagSafe power adapter and fully charge the MacBook or MacBook Pro battery until the light on the MagSafe connector changes to green and the Battery icon in the menu bar indicates that the battery is fully charged. Allow the battery to rest in the fully charged state for two hours or longer. You may use your computer during this time as long as the power adapter is plugged in. Disconnect the power adapter with the computer on and start using it with battery power. When the battery’s charge gets low, you’ll see the low battery warning dialog on the screen. Continue to keep your computer turned on until it goes to sleep. Save your work and close all applications when the battery’s charge gets low and before the computer goes to sleep. Turn off the computer or allow it to sleep for five hours or longer. Reconnect thepower adapter and leave it connected until the battery is fully charged. You may use your computer during this time.

      You sure can! I don't recommend leaving it on the charger all the time though. Charge fully to 100 You sure can! I don't recommend leaving it on the charger all the time though. Charge fully to 100%, unplug and run it until about 10% and then repeat the charging process. This will help the battery have a longer life. I've left for retina Macbook Pro unplugged for a week while working on school assignments between work and home and the battery is still at 30%.
