I have a new iPhone XR and Apple Smart Battery Case for the XR. My phone is not seeing the smart battery case . It should be charging when plugged into the phone. On the Lock Screen it is only seeing the phone battery and not the case . Any suggestions?...

I saw a response to this problem that said just because the light goes out, does not mean that the AirPods are not being charged. Is this true? I have just bought the AirPods and this is the first time I am charging them. I am using the cable that came with the AirPods.
