My first impression is that I love the Apple Pencil 2, easy to pair, goes into low power mode when not in use. It is the best stylus I have ever used for creating artwork digitally (I actually like it more than my Wacom tablet!). I do have some questions I need to get answered before I can give it the 5 stars I want to give it. Can this device be be charged any other way besides sticking it to the iPad? OR has anyone made an iPad case/cover that will actually protect the edges, the most vulnerable part of the iPad while allowing for the Pencil to charge? The Apple Smart Folio seems to expose the edges of the iPad which is great for charging the pencil, but one accidental drop and I fear that the lovely screen will crack. I would really prefer a TPR back cover case that protects the edges but would have a section that would allow for the pencil to charge. I certainly do not want a case that has to be removed to charge the pencil. The only other change I would have liked is to have the pencil flat on 6 sides like a typical pencil.

Makes all the difference in my iPad experience

I bought a 12.9 Pro with the Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil, 2nd generation. Granted, I have nothing to compare it to, but I couldn't be happier with the setup. Lack of mobility had been a long-standing issue for me and this has taken care of that. I design my own book covers and could not imagine using Procreate without the Apple Pencil. I use it for note-taking, artwork, even surfing as I find it easier than using my finger 9which leaves residual oils on the screen no matter how many times I wash my hands). My iMac feels neglected...haha

      Confused by the reviews

Full disclosure, I do not own the first gen pencil; I've only used it on several occasions. My husband has one however, and for the most part, enjoys it. He has Full disclosure, I do not own the first gen pencil; I've only used it on several occasions. My husband has one however, and for the most part, enjoys it. He has no complaints about the pencil, other than charging is rather a pain. The fact that this pencil sticks to the right side of the iPad Pro is awesome - no need to worry about losing it. I do have the phantom touch issue where it switches to an eraser. That is annoying. As for people who are looking for a case that protects both the pencil and iPad; if you have the iPad Pro 11 or 3rd gen 12.9, get the Otterbox Symmetry Series 360. It has a fold over flap which keeps your pencil secured. I have yet to lose my pencil. Not the perfect case in that the flap doesn't tuck out of the way if you have the iPad in one of its stand modes. Nonetheless, I think it is a minor flaw given that protecting the pencil from falling off or getting lose. So, if your iPad does work this case, I would highly recommend obtaining one for your pencil.
