Newer Wi‑Fi + Cellular models include built‑in eSIM technology that acts as a digital SIM card. There are a few ways to activate an eSIM on your iPad, including downloading it to the iPad itself, scanning a QR code, or using an app from a network provider.* With eSIM, you can choose mobile data plans from selected network providers in more than 180 countries and regions around the world. Learn more about setting up eSIM.
Wi‑Fi + Cellular models with embedded eSIM technology include iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (3rd generation or later), iPad Pro 11‑inch (1st generation or later), iPad Air (3rd generation or later), iPad (7th generation or later) and iPad mini (5th and 6th generation).
All Wi‑Fi + Cellular models include a nano‑SIM tray that supports a network provider SIM card.

It’s our trade-in and recycling program that’s good for you and the planet. If your current iPad is eligible for trade-in credit, you can offset the purchase price of a new one.* If it’s not eligible for credit, you can recycle it for free.
-
The Apple Trade In programme makes it easy to trade in an eligible iPad. Just answer a few questions regarding the model and condition, and we will provide an estimated trade-in value* or a simple way to recycle it for free if it’s not eligible for credit.
If your iPad is eligible and you accept the quote, we will send you a free trade-in kit, separate to your new iPad (at no cost to you), so you can then send in your current iPad within the 14-day return window.
Once we receive your iPad, we’ll inspect it and verify its condition. If the condition matches what you described, there’s nothing more you need to do. If the condition doesn’t match, a new trade-in value will be provided. You’ll have the option to either accept this revised value or reject it. We’ll work with you to confirm that you still want to move forwards with the trade‑in.
The trade-in process can take up to 2–3 weeks.
You can also trade your device in at an Apple Store at the point of purchase; however, the trade-in value in-store may be different to the estimated trade-in value you received online.
-
That depends on how you pay for your new iPad.
Once we receive your trade-in device and confirm that the condition matches what you described, there’s nothing more you need to do.
If you pay monthly with PayBright, we’ll apply the value as an instant credit to lower the monthly payments of your new device. If you pay in full, we’ll credit your payment method after we receive your trade-in.
If we provide a revised trade-in value based on the condition of your old device, we’ll work with you to confirm that you still want to move forward with the trade-in.
-
Taxes will be charged based on the full price of your new device. If you pay monthly with PayBright, we’ll apply the value as an instant credit to lower the monthly payments of your new device. If you pay in full, we’ll credit your payment method after we receive your trade-in.
-
When getting your old device ready to send in, please refer to instructions for how to turn off Find My on your device. The team inspecting your device must be able to turn it on and remove the passcode. Once your device has been inspected, the trade-in value is verified and we can finalize your refund.
