Siri does more than ever.
Even before you ask.

Calls and Texts

Siri lets you stay connected without lifting a finger.

Siri can make calls or send texts for you whether you are driving, have your hands full or are simply on the go.1 It also offers proactive suggestions — like texting someone that you’re running late for a meeting — so you can stay in touch effortlessly.2

“Hey Siri, call Mom on speaker”

Siri reminds you to make the calls that matter.

“Text Donna ‘I’m on the way exclamation point’”

“Read my last message”

Don’t know who’s calling? Siri can help.

“Message Teri ‘I’ll be there in 30 minutes’ on WhatsApp”

“FaceTime Ivy”

Let Siri finish your sentences for you.

Everyday Tasks

Siri is a faster, easier way to do all kinds of useful things.

Set alarms, timers and reminders. Get directions. Preview your calendar. Siri can do it all without your ever having to pick up a device. Based on your routine, Siri can even anticipate what you might need to help you breeze through your day.

“Hey Siri, wake me up at 7 AM”

“Split a $94 cheque three ways”

Siri lets you know when to leave based on traffic.

“Remind me to pick up the dry cleaning when I leave work”

“Hey Siri, set a timer for 20 minutes”

“What does my day look like?”

Siri suggests shortcuts based on your routine.

Siri can find the song you want to hear. Just ask.

Apple Music and Siri work together beautifully.3 Which means you can ask Siri to find a new song you’ll like. Put on a favourite album. Or even answer questions about bands you love. Siri can also suggest your favourite playlist when you arrive at the gym or start your drive home. Just tap to play.

“Hey Siri, play me something I’d like”

“What song is this?”

“Play me some ’90s hip hop”

“Play the latest Beach House”

Siri suggests the playlists you want. Right when you want them.

“Hey Siri, when did this song come out?”

Siri is a smart way to run your smart home.

Now you can control your smart appliances, check their status, or even do a bunch of things at once — using just your voice. In the Home app, for example, you can create a scene named “I’m home” that opens the garage, unlocks the front door and turns on the lights.

“Hey Siri, turn on the lights in the living room”

“I’m home”

“Hey Siri, warm it up in here”

“What are they saying?”

Siri suggests scenes based on your routine. Tap to turn the lights off and the heat down.

“Did I close the garage door?”

“Show driveway camera”

“Watch Letterkenny”

Knowledge on the Go

Siri has answers to all kinds of questions.

Quickly check facts, do calculations or translate a phrase into another language. It’s as simple as asking. Even when you don’t ask, Siri works behind the scenes like a personal assistant. A great example is the Siri watch face, which serves up events, news, suggestions and more, right when you need them.

“Hey Siri, how are the reviews for Booksmart?”

“What’s the derivative of cosine(x)?”

Stay on top of stocks, scores, your schedule, your Activity rings and more with the Siri watch face.

“What was the score of the Orioles game yesterday?”

Siri gets you answers even before you finish searching in Safari.

More Powerful Tasks

Siri can search, send and book faster than you can.

It’s amazing how quickly Siri can find photos of your kids, locate your parked car, make a reservation, or unearth what you’re looking for from massive numbers of files. And the capabilities of Siri are optimized for each device, so you get the right kind of help, anywhere you are.

“Find me a table for four tonight at 8”

“Find my AirPods”

“Open the presentation I was working on yesterday”

When Siri recognizes events in apps like Mail or Messages, it suggests adding them to your calendar.

Siri helps streamline your daily routine.

Introducing Shortcuts.
For all your favourite apps.

Siri Shortcuts show up right on your Lock screen.

An all‑new feature called Shortcuts makes the things you do often — like checking the traffic for your drive to work — even easier.2 Just tap the suggestion when it comes up on your Lock screen or in your search results. Done.

You can add Shortcuts to the apps you use all the time.

Shortcuts give you an even faster way to access apps. Say you travel often. Next time you create an itinerary in an app like Kayak, tap Add to Siri. Then choose a phrase, such as “Travel plans,” that will pull up your flight and hotel details just like that. As more and more apps integrate Siri capabilities, you can ask Siri to do so much more.

Shortcuts can do multiple things across multiple apps.

The new Shortcuts app gives you a library of useful shortcuts to choose from, like “Heading home.” Just say the words and Siri will text your ETA, start a playlist and find the fastest route home — all at once. You can also create your own shortcuts to streamline tasks you do all the time.

Siri is always learning how to be even more helpful.

Machine learning is constantly making Siri smarter. And you can personalize Siri to make it even more useful. Choose to have Siri speak one of 21 different languages. Teach Siri who your family members are. And spell out unusual words so Siri can recognize them in the future.

Siri keeps your information private and secure.

Siri is designed to do as much learning as possible offline, right on your device. Searches and requests are not associated with your identity — so your personal information isn’t gathered to sell to advertisers or other organizations. And end-to-end encryption ensures that data synced between your devices can’t be accessed, even by Apple.
