Problem is solved temporarily by rebooting with LG display plugged into MacBook 2016, until MacBook goes to sleep or you unplug and replug when problem restarts.

      Terrible product - Avoid

This Monitor will black out every 10 seconds. Having spoken to both Apple support and LG support they both have yet to receive any information on this product. This Monitor will black out every 10 seconds. Having spoken to both Apple support and LG support they both have yet to receive any information on this product. LG's advice was just to return it to apple as they have never seen one and none of there support use Apple products. Apples advice was you have 14days to return it. This is the first time I have ordered a product via Apple's website and felt let down by it. Save your time and money and avoid this until they solve the issue.

In my opinion the issue relates to the display port over USB-c implementation rather than the screens. It still requires Apple to fix the issue though given increasing number of new USB-C based MacBook Pro users

      An absolutely stunning display

Perhaps I'm lucky but, for me, it's been an absolute dream and perhaps one of the best pieces of computer equipment I've ever bought. • Unbox monitor • Plug it in • Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the MacBook Pro • Hey presto! Monitor comes to life with the most amazing image quality. Not only that, it charges the laptop as well. Unplug the laptop and the monitor automatically turns off. Love that, too. One thing to bear in mind is that the audio output automatically switched from the MacBook Pro to the monitor (at full volume) so that shocked me when an e-mail came in. Simple to change that in System Prefs of course. But really, it's a stunning piece of kit. Very solidly built and really, the picture is just amazing.

It works seamlessly with the latest MacBook Pro (so much so that I've ditched my ageing desktop Mac completely). Negatives: It's small. I wish that I had saved enough for the 27" model. Whilst the solidity of the stand is excellent and it adjust vertically and tilts with ease, the lack of any swivel means that I have to lift the hefty base plate to move it (we don't all sit locked into a single seating position). Finally, and really annoyingly, I have a dead pixel which I only discovered when trying to edit it out of a photo! It's probably not enough to battle over a belated return, but do make sure that you set the background to plain white to test it when you get one as desktop backgrounds can easily mask these imperfections.

Questionable Design, Constantly crashes when plugging in

While this has been buggy before 10.13, 10.13 has taken this to a whole new level of buggyness. This is on a 15" 2017-maxed-out-macbook-pro and using LG's provided screen manager utility so it's quite clear problems still exist with this product even after routergate. Otherwise I'd love to say the monitor is great for the price - with decent colour and resolution for a 21" screen. But it's questionable design makes it's a shame it doesn't work with more devices, and some standard usb ports and/or ethernet on the back would be much more useful than usb 2.0-speed usb c ports. What are you actually imagining we plug into these? All in all after owning this for 3 months or so I can say this would be a much better screen all round if they had just put some decent standard connectivity onto it.
