Turn the device you have into the one you want.
Trade in your eligible device for an Apple Store Gift Card.1 If it’s not eligible for credit, we’ll recycle it for free. No matter the model or condition, we can turn it into something good for you and good for the planet.
And until 30 April, we’ll make a donation to Conservation International for every device we receive — getting us even closer to leaving the world better than we found it.2
A better way to part with your favourite device.
You’ll see what it’s worth instantly.
Just answer a few questions about your device. Based on what you tell us, we’ll offer you a competitive trade-in estimate for an Apple Store Gift Card or instant credit at an Apple Store.1 Or you’ll have the option to recycle it for free.
Your data stays safe.
Before you hand off your device, we’ll show you how to safely back up and wipe your data, so you can keep all your information to yourself.3 If it’s an Apple product, it’s even easier. Just use iCloud or Time Machine to move everything in a few steps.
It goes on to help the planet.
You may be done with your device, but chances are it still has more to give. If it’s in good shape, we’ll help it go to a new owner. If not, we’ll send it to our recycling partner, so we can save more precious materials and take less from the earth.
Some iPhone models will even go to Daisy, our disassembly robot that can efficiently recover the resources inside.4
Just post it off or bring it in.
Trading in your device is as easy as buying a new one. We’ll give you a prepaid trade-in kit or you can take it to an Apple Store. We’ll either give you instant credit towards the purchase of a new product or send your device on to our recyclers.
Apple GiveBack is a device trade-in programme offered by Apple. We work with trade-in partners who provide you with an estimated value based on the device information provided. If you like the quote, our partner will send you shipping materials (at no cost to you) and you can send in your device.
Our partners will inspect your device and, if it is in the condition stated, they’ll send you an Apple Store Gift Card for the quoted amount. If the device is not in the stated condition, our partner will send you a new quote. You can either accept the new quote or have your device sent back (at no cost to you).
Yes. Apple GiveBack lets you recycle any Apple device and devices from Apple owned brands at any Apple Store and online. We'll make sure it's recycled responsibly or given a chance to be used again. Some devices may also be eligible for credit. You can bring your batteries and old Apple-products to any Apple Store, and we'll recycle them responsibly, free of charge. We accept any small product or battery without purchase of a new product or battery.
When we receive your device, our partners will inspect it thoroughly. If the device is in good working condition, it can be refurbished so it can go on to a new owner. If it’s not in working order, it will be recycled in an environmentally responsible way through one of our partners.
The entire trade-in process takes about two to three weeks. But the faster you send in your device, the sooner your trade-in will be inspected and processed.
Our trade-in partner will inspect your device. If they find it to be in the condition described, you will receive the quoted value in the form of an Apple Store Gift Card. If it’s not in the condition described, a new quote will be sent to you. You will have the option to accept this quote and receive an Apple Store Gift Card, or reject it and have your device sent back to you for free.
Anyone who is at least 18 years of age and resides within the UK can take part in the program.
The estimated trade-in value is valid for 14 days, and we encourage you to send the device to us within this timeframe to ensure getting this value. If you require additional time, you have the option to extend the quote for an additional 7 days through the Self-Service site: appleonlineuk.mpxltd.co.uk/login.aspx. If you need assistance, you may contact the customer service team via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each device is covered up to a maximum value of £100 per claim if anything happens to your device whilst being shipped to Brightstar, providing that you have taken the necessary precautions to package the device correctly and used the tracked service. To raise a claim you may contact our customer service team via email: email@example.com.
No. Old appliances, batteries, as well as all the products which are marked with a cross on top of a rubbish bin with wheels must be collected and recycled separately. There are important materials in old equipment which are recycled separately in a certain way. These raw materials can be used as new material. Some electronic equipment may contain potentially harmful substances which must be disposed of carefully. Apple bears responsibility for the environment and is a member of the recycling programme, just like many other major electrical appliance manufacturers in the UK.
The symbol means that according to local laws and regulations, your product and/or its battery should be disposed of separately from household waste. When this product reaches its end of life, take it to a collection point designated by local authorities. The separate collection and recycling of your product and/or its battery at the time of disposal will help conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. For information about Apple’s recycling programme, recycling collection points, restricted substances and other environmental initiatives, visit www.apple.com/uk/environment/.
