2TB G Drive - Good But Cabling Issues

Drive purchased to provide storage for Music Sample Libraries. Works really well for this purpose. It's about 6 times faster (400 MB/s using USB 3) than a porta Drive purchased to provide storage for Music Sample Libraries. Works really well for this purpose. It's about 6 times faster (400 MB/s using USB 3) than a portable Lacie thunderbolt hard drive (65 MB/s). Sample libraries, even big ones (0.5GB), load very quickly, smaller ones load almost instantaneously. The drive is very small. It's smaller than an old style Nokia phone, but bigger than an iPod Nano. Robust by design, but I have concerns that the "pretty" metal grid effect on the front and back could attract dirt and dust and perhaps the odd dent. I think a case might be a good idea especially something to keep both drive and cable together (see below). Drive came with 2 very short cables. The shortness of the cables makes it difficult to position the drive in a convenient location away from a laptop. The cables are not attached to the drive when not plugged in and so could be lost. Make sure you have a back up of the drive in case you loose a cable. Note the drive only appears to only work with the supplied cables (hence the need for a back up). The G Drive will not power up with a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. Neither will it work with USB C to Micro B USB 3 cable. This is the reason for the 4 stars.
