Overview

Doesn't work with data projectors

This adaptor is very disappointing. I found that it works fine with some small (20 inch) Samsung monitors that have a VGA input but it doesn't work with any of This adaptor is very disappointing. I found that it works fine with some small (20 inch) Samsung monitors that have a VGA input but it doesn't work with any of the data projectors I have in my university department so I can't use my new MacBook Pro (unipart aluminium case) for Powerpoint presentations, which was one of the main reasons for buying the laptop. The problem seems to be that the laptop senses the data projector ( and scales down the laptop display to VGA) but the projector doesn't detect the laptop (and so fails to display the image from the laptop screen). My old MacBookPro (Intel core duo) works fine with all data projectors (using the DVI to VGA adaptor) and I'm now in the silly position of having to use the old laptop for all travel (conferences etc) plus teaching in the university. The wonderful looking new MacBook Pro has to stay at home. Apple needs to issue a firmware fix or a better adaptor as soon as possible.

Very poor

I've got one of these to connect my Macbook Pro to my Samsung TV but as with everyone else, the TV doesn't recognise the output from the laptop. (It works find I've got one of these to connect my Macbook Pro to my Samsung TV but as with everyone else, the TV doesn't recognise the output from the laptop. (It works find with my Dell laptop and Windows XP). The result is that the adapter is useless.

Worked straight out the box

Worked np with a panasonic TH-42PX80BA 42" plasma. Those that are having problems check you mac is set at the correct resolution for the LCD/Plasma that you Worked np with a panasonic TH-42PX80BA 42" plasma. Produces excellent quality display

On the Road, I needed to connect my Mac Mini to a VGA only LG monitor and this adapter did the trick perfectly. The Monitor display was immaculate and looked ev On the Road, I needed to connect my Mac Mini to a VGA only LG monitor and this adapter did the trick perfectly. The Monitor display was immaculate and looked even better than the 1920 X 1080 it showed in the display settings. I will be looking after it well for my future trips! Well worth the money for the hassle saved.

Works fine on a wide range of equipment

Extremely poor

This product is not at the high standard you come to expect from apple. A note regarding the 13" MacBook Pro: You CAN use two Thunderbolt displays with the 13", same as the A note regarding the 13" MacBook Pro: You CAN use two Thunderbolt displays with the 13", same as the 15" and 17". The difference is that if you connect a second Thunderbolt display to the 13" then the internal display is automagically deactivated. The 15" and 17" will drive all three displays with no trouble.
