      need thunderbolt 2

I bought this adapter so I could display a slideshow from Photos on an HDTV. I found 2 options, one from Moshi and one from Belkin. The reviews of the Moshi was I bought this adapter so I could display a slideshow from Photos on an HDTV. I found 2 options, one from Moshi and one from Belkin. The reviews of the Moshi was discouraging with many people having the adapter stop working. I decided the 6ft Belkin would allow me to reach the tv set without having to get another HDMI to HDMI cord. The on line description says it is 6.5ft but the package actually says 6ft though I did not measure it. The Apple store clerk said it would work with any thunderbolt port but when I tried it on my MacBook Pro vintage mid-2012, it did not work. I read the fine print on the package and it states thunderbolt 2 is needed. I hooked it to my iMac with thunderbolt 2 and it worked perfectly.

      Doesn't work

Doesn't work with MacBook. After receiving it and coming away to a hotel and using it for the first time. Reading fine print on box, not on description on Apple Doesn't work with MacBook. After receiving it and coming away to a hotel and using it for the first time. Reading fine print on box, not on description on Apple Store page, I haven't got the Thunderbolt 2 connection on my MacBook. Maybe something to bear in mind when buying this item.
